Anything between 4 and 10 hours, really. Each person has different sleep needs.
What I count as good night sleep is 6 hours or more, sleep on a comfortable bed and pillow, and most importantly actually sleep at night.
Isn't eight hours of sleep the scientifically recommended amount? At least that's what I recall.
i need to sleep 9 and a half hours

12 hours is probably because of lack of sleep on the previous days or some mental issues, not sure how that's good
normally you'd sleep for 8-10 and you should feel fine assuming you didn't wake up by external stimuli like your alarm clock or woke up several times during your sleep
and its more focused on cycles so 8 isnt always the answer either, maybe 7,5 or 9 is your go to, who knows, I don't
For me its definitely the former. I have horrible sleep patterns during the week because I am a naturally late sleeper yet have to wake up early, cutting down my sleep, and thus I am almost permanently sleep-deprived. The weekends are perhaps the only time I can get 9-10 hours of sleep, and if I'm not careful, I can sleep 11-12 hours. It's bad, but it's my life.
I do think 9-10 is my go-to, though 7 hours is good enough for the most part.
My brother has crazy sleep patterns, it's like sleeping is a luxury for him. If he has it his way he would have about 10 to 12 hours sleep on minimum. I remember one day where he sleep for at least 17 hours, waking up like in 5 in the afternoon.
Me though yeah I'm more normal, tend to get at most 6 to 5 hours, with a proper 8 to 9 on when I am free.

Hey I must make some concessions when my normal time to get up is at 5:40 everyday.
As I said, 5 hour sleep. Yay
