There's a reason Babylonia chapter was widely praised, because that one managed to develop the large cast in the first half of the story. Shit only went bonkers by the second half with godzilla on the loose. It is an example of "high stakes, large cast but they were reasonably developed". Of course it still has some problems with some chars getting more development than the others, but saying the writer did not even try is false.

Camelot, too. Though really, I'd argue even the earlier GO story arcs all* had promising premises and occasional good moments, even if most of them failed to deliver.

    * Yes, even Septem. The premise is too Nero-centric for my tastes (not that I dislike Nero), but it could be well done - it just wasn't.

I feel like this is why olympus fell flat, because there really no sacrifice that the main crew have to take. Mean besides like Musashi but did anyone feel anything during her "death".

Well duh, most of the allies were already dead by the time Chaldea arrives there save for Caligula.

Olympus fell flat for a multitude of reasons. Coming after Mandricardo and Super Orion (and Charlotte maybe) with no one properly filling their seats was no help either.

I kinda wish circuits were different for each character, like the circuit look fits shirou but I think the circuit look doesnt fit more traditional magi.

Its just a weird aesthetic idea that i think would be neat

I kinda of agree with you, but you also have to think about how this would be justified.

IDK about you but Kirsch and Caenis's death scene hit pretty hard. Musashi's was a joke though, you're right there.

Something something element something something origin something inner world? I mean they reside in the soul (sometimes anyway as theres this weird bit where they seem weirdly physical and not)

Also weird we agree on something.

Do circuits need to be different. Maybe some oddness with abnormal compositions but we don’t need to have some special snowflake design for your energy and information processing soul nerve organs, tbh.

they’re circuits, they channel things and they connect with things. Simple as that

I just dont think computer circuitry look works for orthodox magi

It's neater than the bunch of nerve-like structures you should probably see in truth (considering the description of Circuits in ToM). So I feel like it's fine to go for that sleek, straight look in the end.

But wouldn't a more organic look make more sense for mages like Alice?

Remember the mention that Crimson Moon wanted to take over Earth because his own kingdom lost everything?

You're gonna learn about the Finno-Korean moon war.

Actually in non-Extra worlds, Sefar landed on the moon first and wiped out Crimson Moon's kingdom, then once she got strong enough she came down to Earth and wreck the ancient civilizations.

It does, there is even a recurring cast that evolves through the story for that reason. I would even argue that ultimately FGO focus is more about the characters than the actual lore.
