Rather, it's more, they will only "enjoy" it enough to convince the creators and fandom to change things to the way that they want. When in Rome, do as the Romans do, or if you are going to invade, at least, do the decent thing and formally declare war, like that nice Altera girl. If not, well... I guess you could look on the bright side of life, and death:

you know, you don't have to - you're not obliged to post a video to "support your argument" whenever you say something. you are allowed to just say things. you don't have to make a reference to something else. you can use words. with words, you can do anything. I give you my full permission. go now in peace

Thing is, "when in Rome, do as the Roman do" is a saying. However, whenever talking about Romans, I feel like I need to make a reference to crucifixion or Biggus Dickus.

I diagnose some here with early onset of boomerism. There is no known cure for it, sorry.

Well, if you want Type-Moon to go the way of Disney, then by all means, stay this course.

Its time you guys accepted the fact that Fate was never a hidden gem. You are not a connoisseur, and you never were.

You made 2 claims there: "hidden" and "gem". Which one would you like a response to?

I thought we were talking about TM in general.

To be honest, I think this is more like disdain for your average newcomer whose entry to this world was FGO alone or some loose adaptation; the perception that because they're being catered to nowadays, the quality of new works has fallen. At least that's how some people -not only me- see it.

Again, we must, each of us, every day, remind all of our fanbase, old and new, that the main games of the TM franchises were eroge and always will be, at their centers.

That I think the attitude towards newcomers having differing and/or cringe opinions is eye rolling means I want TM to be a megacorporation hoarding IPs and being so creatively bankrupt it remakes the same stories in live action to capitalize on nostalgia?

    lol ok

Totally agree. Newcomers have a right to their opinions, cringe or not.

Oh, people can say whatever opinions they want, but they should also expect retorts, especially when they think those opinions come from some kind of moral high ground.

Well yes, but gatekeeping and trying to establish oneself as a "true" fan is a fundamentalist move, and that hasn't really ever been good for anyone at any time.

    - - - Updated - - -

That being said, we should probably push back against misinformation and opinions that cause actual harm to other people.

Better than letting busybodies wander in trying to get rid of "problematic elements" to "make the series for everyone". It's like the Imperial Mages Guild from the Elder Scrolls series. In ES IV, they tried to ban necromancy because it triggered the Muggles. The ensuing war between the guild and the necromancer order resulted in the entire guild imploding and many guild and order mages dying horribly. But you know what? Given that, by the time of ESV, no one but a few vigilantes really care if you're playing with corpses (provided that you didn't murder anyone to get them), I think that all that death and destruction was worth it to get rid of the aforementioned moral busybodies.
