I appreciate ryukishi's brand of autism. in some ways - in SOME - it brings out the very best of distinctively otaku media consumption habits. under other circumstances you might be tempted to ask, "does TM really need /a/ threads full of UOOH CHILD BODY EROTIC", but ever since prillya they're here anyway so fuck it, bring on the insane multiple personality culprit theories and hairsplitting debates about what is even real

While I'd never turn down more Monogatari, isn't the idea of a guest/spinoff writer to bring new idea's to the table that aren't just a single a rehash of either's OG works? A DDD by Nisio would either be a slightly funnier DDD or a slightly darker Monogatari. Wouldn't it be more interesting to see him tackle something that's outside of that wheelhouse? A Tsukihime where half the story is Shiki and SHIKI sitting around philosophizing at each other? A grail War where Servants are instead there to help self actualize the Masters rather than throw around fancy beamswords? A KKK where an entire episode is Touko talking with Shiki/Mikiya while she's taking a shower?


If the only way we'd get more DDD is by Nisio, I'd be all for it, becasue something is better than the nothing we have and having a similar writer fill in for an absent one is a good choice. But still if we were to get a guest from someone I'd like for it to be a wildly different take on an established idea rather than something that ends being nothing more than a passing facsimile to the original.

Even in Fate, it's pretty much just Saber and Gil. Herc can't speak, Baz is basically dead, Atrum is very dead, Archer is more interested in self harm than anything else, Medusa is a figurative doormat, and Assassin a literal doormat.
