Waiting for the Olympics. TM will surely deliver!
The priest was waiting for the arrival of the princess, who was only an enemy of all of them.
For the priest, the golden princess was the one and only main heroine.
Everyone else was unworthy of his respect, no matter how strong they were.
Tsukihime 2 Prelude III
This is Last Ranker, the game that imageepoch made right before Fate/EXTRA. In fact, they came out the same year, the same month!
And while this games seems to have been more focused on compared to Fate/EXTRA, the similarities between the games are actually quite striking. Look at the battle footage from above. The way the battles animate, down to the font choice of the battle text and damage display is the same. While I'm not all too familiar with the game myself (I haven't played it), the way its plot is described is quite similar as well. The meat of the game appears to be in a sort of "tournament-style", with the protagonist confronting each of these "Seven Knights" in the course of seven duels. I'd even wager they were built on the same engine. The lack of RPS in Last Ranker seems to indicate that was one of the Fate/EXTRA innovations, however!
This is a really cool find! What got you looking into it?
Trying to find more proof that Niino is a hack.
Oh my god I had never looked at his resume, what do you mean he directed Trauma Center
Nasu wrote Fate/Extra.But they managed to sell around 330k copies somehow.Magic.
Also I hope they will include Blossom-Sensei in remake for bad ends.
That is so strange. Given the proximity I understand the visual similarities, though it's still surprising, but the plot? I can only imagine this was a funny coincidence, but feels like a story that surely would have been brought up in some TM interview by now just because it'd be amusing to find out such a similar premise was pitched right beside you.
I don't remember how Nasu first approached them (or got approached by them?). Maybe him or someone else in TM found out about Last Ranker's development and pitched Extra because of it?
Niino pitched Fate/EXTRA to Nasu, not the other way around.
Nasu's relationship to the writing of Fate/Extra is p complicated, it's not his baby like CCC is.
It's kind of amazing that 90% of TM games are just random struggling devs pitching their shovelware game ideas to Nasu.

Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
I'm very curious as to what the original EXTRA script as if what we got is the salvaged version and it's hardly among Nasu's best works.
I could think of it as byproduct of Nasu wanting to present his vision for a tyrant character, which chance was snagged in Zero by Urobuchi with Iskandar. Nero then had to be used somewhere. Since it got plenty of cameos of other Nasuverse characters, it's a rather nice way as an entrance title to Nasuverse as a whole.
That said, Imageepoch was not a very stable company in the first place IMO, and there was a case of their CEO gone missing. The only other title of theirs I could immediately think of is Black Rock Shooter game.
