That's why theres multiple stories about Guan Yu keeping Red Hare after Lu Bu's death and Diao Chan falling in love with Guan Yu after Lu Bu's death.

In Souten Kouro, Diaochan is killed in Chang'an along with her father during the riot caused by Dong Zhuo's remnants.
It still makes me laugh that the writer made Lu Bu begging for his life out to be this enlightened decision that elevated him above all other heroes of the era.the PAD Lu Bu is pretty rad.
