But yeah, people actually said shito, shinso, reiju, eirei, hougu, chokushi, magan, kekkai, etc
(I think a big factor was that people (well, mostly EvoSpace) weren't sure about how to translate those. But then people started using the official romanizations when available, arai made fuyuki, which was the most thorough source of translated lore for years, and the games were translated, and those became the de facto standards)
