I don't believe that Tamamo can punch out Artoria and view Polygamist Castration Fist as a (very funny) joke ability, but I also don't think she's as useless in melee as Medea because of her ability to defend against Fox Saber's blows.

Basically, she's better defensively in close-range than Medea, whose close-range strategy is "teleport/fly away if aware" and "get the shit punched out of her if caught off guard".

Imagine a Caster who has zero martial art experiences in that situation and you get my point. They won't last that long. Suzuka Gozen is one of the very skilled samurai in her legend, defending that much against her swordsmanship in melee range is a feat for any Caster.

Flare Skirt Bunker Buster (that which she used to destroy Moon Cell's Eight Dimensional Barrier and its core) was definitely no joke. She never used it out of 9 tails form but that's enough proof for her knowledge of "how to kick things hard", which includes the castration fist.

That's an exaggeration.

No, it's not.

EMIYA has D-rank Magic Resistance, and just with the extra resistance provided by Kanshou & Bakuya, he can deflect magic from the likes of Medea. After he broke out his own ranged weapon, the fight pretty much ended. It's not just that Casters have their primary method of offense compromised, their other attributes outside of magic are usually garbage. Archers have superior missile attacks. Sabers, Lancers are typically faster and more agile. Riders have better/more plentiful Noble Phantasms. All four are also stronger and sturdier.

Now stack onto that a passive ability to resist the only thing Casters have going for them. Of course, Cu's Magic Resistance is 'necessary and sufficient.' He already had an unfair advantage to begin with by not being a Caster. The Magic Resistance is overkill. Anything above E-rank would have been 'necessary and sufficient.'

My headcanon is that i imagine the MR from most Servants doesnt do crap when the Caster is bombarding the Master instead in the arena

As a rule, Masters are forbidden from fighting outside of this battleground, however this rule is not strictly enforced. Those who break this rule are penalized, but not disqualified. If one so desires it’s possible to attack other Masters even in areas such as the arena and the school building.
However, there are several absolute rules that must be observed within the decisive battleground:
1: Servants only can attack Servants.
2: Masters can attack both Servants and Masters.

He blocks what he can and dodges what he can't. You know the usually thing a character does when faced with a volley.

my point is that if D rank MR plus Kanshou and Bakuya resist Up is enough to "deflect magic from the likes of Medea", than dodging wouldnt be necessary to begin with. EMiya would just blitz through them beamus like Saber did.

Yet Emiya still has to parkour real hard vs Medea's beamu

MR makes a shield around Saber.
Archer has to actively deflect each ball with his swords,
Basically, it's like 50 baseball pitching devices around a person and you give that person two bats.
And the moment you get hit by a baseball you die.
