The fear is perfectly rational. Just hope your not-yet-Servant is obscure enough to escape the conversion until the game shuts down in 2145.

On the contrary, Ada Lovelace is too famous for nu FGO. Unless it's an obscure Japanese toilet stall deity, the chance of a mildly well-known figure appearing in FGO as of now is astronomically low.
My smile and optimism: restored
Would you achieve something great in this modern age and become relatively well known but become some random fetish bait or whitewashed waifu in FGO or die in obscurity without ever making the world a "better" place?
For my self, a definitive no.

Getting the Tesla Treatment is fate worse than oblivion.
Depends, who's drawing me?
If Pako is on the table, it's a definitive yes
Say a artist that you liked and one that you would absolutely hate if they did you.
I definitely would put the effort in becoming famous for the sake being drawn by Wataru Rei even a genderbend wouldn't be that bad, but idea of gender bended and drawn by Takeuchi or Raita would haunt me forever.
>Be named Lady Cow
>Be drawn with cow tits
>People don't like it
?
My personal issue with Raita isn't that he draws fat breasted women, but that I find his women very visually unappealing in general, due to how he expresses those anatomy decisions.
He has other issues that extend to his men as well -- over iteration upon designs, slapping random garbage on a character until their outfit fills the whole scene. Kind of reminds me of those nonsense images meant to simulate what it's like having a stroke.
This discussion reminds me of Nasu saying his favorite historical figure is Alan Turing but he won't ever be a servant.
