From what I've read, the Ancient Greeks didn't really worship the Protogenoi like Gaia all that much, and they tended to worship the Theioi who presides over natural forces.

Again, there is a lot we don't know about Ancient Greek religious practice because a lot of stuff wasn't written down and wasn't preserved materially.

Are the Theioi the origin word of Theism?

Theoi is the plural of theos which is greek for 'deity', theism is theos + -ism.

Although I don't recall anything particularly mind-boggling in that book. It's quite tame, Dumezil's autistic obsession with tripartic classification of everything Indo-European aside.

They did, though it's posted on FGO website instead of TM's. This giveaway should be the reason: https://www.fate-go.jp/newyear_cp2022/
2022 New Year card is Castoria drawn by Takeuchi, by the way.

And mine shall be that he was the Master of the 2nd Holy Grail War because that name just feels like it belongs in the Edo period. If anyone wants to contradict me about whether Tokinaga is an old-fashioned name, feel free.

Mine is that there's no Tokinaga. Rin said the notebook was from all of her predecessors and Shirou put a big pause between the names, so I think he just read the Toki in Tokiomi and the Naga in Nagato. The kanjis match.

    "Wait, Tohsaka. What is this?"[lr]
"Huh? It's my ancestral formula book. You're my pupil after all, so I'll let you see my house's greatest treasure..."[lr]
    [...]
"Fine, I'll give it a try... Whoa, this is handwritten. And in cursive..."[lr]
I unintentionally groan just looking at the book which had yellowed with age.[lr]
Was this ancestor of Tohsaka's from that kind of era? I guess this old style of writing can't be helped if her family used this like a research journal for generations.
At any rate, Nagato viewed sorcery and martial arts as equal, and was attempting to reach the Root via a state of mushin (no-mind) when he was recruited by the Einzberns and Makiri.
As you might expect from Rin's ancestor, he was prone to goofing up. Also, it seems that his daughter was the one with talent for sorcery, and ended up being far more useful in the construction of the Great Holy Grail than her father was.
but what if the hot Edo waifu wrote the family book of magic while useless dad fucked around with calisthenics

Man, digging up Hollow runes is still a pain. Anyway, Comun is prrrrrobably right:

Think of it as the family recipe book that every Tohsaka pitches into or somethng.

1790 or 1795 was the first one, as far as I remember, and the second one was in the 1850s.
