Honestly I've come to despise that "folk-style feeling." To me, it truly comes across as "man wasn't it better when you were fucking poor so I could enjoy being a tourist and enjoy your poverty?"

People like that strike me as the kind of people who probably were sad that Kawloon city, or whatever that walled off place in Hong Kong was called, is now gone.

Kayneth's assessment -which is a classic kind of criticism of modern levelling/homogenisation/technology/industrialisation which hovers somewhere in the space between völkisch, William Morris, Tolstoyan, Lebensphilosophie ideas - would have been both normal and unremarkable among most conservative landed aristocrats (especially in countries where the ancien regime persisted) in Europe from about 1850-1945. One could imagine a far more verbose working-out of this idea somewhere in Musil's The Man Without Qualities. Urobuchi was being pretty sensible. Certainly it is a more sensible characterisation than with most other magi we've seen since Zero.

Yes, and his main criticism of the industrial revolution was medieval in nature; or at the very least founded by a ghost of such aspirations. Medieval Europe is by definition mechanistic, as I believe many of his views could be interpreted as. His reinterpretation of Nature upon the machine is a mechanism, or at least I would argue. So, could he be interpreted as such?

It's a review of FSR by an elderly lady, in which she shows her saber figmas. Also apparently she 100% Hollow Ataraxia without any translation patch, it's crazy
