First of all, the Western audience isn't relevant to TsukiRe mostly because it's doubtful it will even be localized. And even if by any chance it were, I doubt most people that have a interest TsukiRe will care about stuff like that. And most of all I don't think a western Twitter mob can influence Type-Moon in any way.

Yeah, a more accurate article title would have been "Last of Us 2 is the latest video game that shows gamers aren't used to seeing women who don't fit their definitions of 'sexy' ". Because even all the way back in the 80's Tyris Flare was already drawn with lots of muscle on the covers (and I'm not even saying she was the first one), but everywhere I looked I still saw plenty of asinine comparisons between Abby and other characters, like Tifa.
from my personal knowledge (as in, i didnt play the 2nd game but i did watch analysis and commentary on it), i think the problem with the game is more so the overly negative vibe and the shift in plot priorities, as well as disrespecting established characters.
as for Abby, i think it is mostly the disrespect of Joel but also people noticing that the designers went out of their way to remove the feminine traits from the motion capture female models that they used for creating the game.
i think it is less about "sexy" and more about the "feminine" aspect of things. i personally very rarely have my brain register "oh, that is sexy" when i interact with entertainment media, but my brain does go "oh, that is feminine" (for example, in code geass, i only noticed the sexual aspect of the robot ass shots when someone mentioned it to me after i had finished the series)
Are you saying that the woke left, like the religious right, are trying to make people feel "guilty" over their "sinful" existence and then leech off of that guilt? Good thing that I don't feel either, then.
It's just a shitty game. Visually unappealing deuteragonist is barely an icing on the cake all things considered.
