She was on trial for crossdressing, so it makes sense on some level that they'd try to paint her as some sort of devilish temptress.
As far as I could tell the trial was basically a joke anyways, so I wouldn't really expect the proceedings to be reasonable in any way.
My Fanfiction - Almost entirely short stories and oneshots
Sorry, on second look d'Aulon's statement was in her retrial years later to posthumously prove her innocence. The full statement was about how even though he'd seen her naked and liked what he saw he never felt a desire for her. Like as a statement of her nature I guess.
She was Virgin Mary-pretty not Mary Magdalene-pretty
>western twitter is pissed because they think Ghost of Tsushima is cultural appropriation because white people are involved
>I wonder when would these people be super-pissed and attempt to ban Fate because Nasu dared to make King Arthur a girl
I bet these are the same people that got NGNL and other light novels banned on amazon
ive literally not seen this, even once
i think getting mad at cultural appropriation died some time 2015-16

Twitter is for porn only. I should not have broken my own rule.
Not immediately, it was like 25 years later after years of her mother campaigning for it.
I hate you for making me relive it, but just yesterday I had to deal with a thousand comment thread on Roosterteeth pulling an entry from a monster art contest just because the artist called it a "Wendigo". So yes, cultural appropriation is the buzzword of the month.
Also something about Chicago Redskins, iirc

O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed you have not already collapsed in ruin.
Thats amazons own decision and has nothing to do with any outrage lobbying from social media users. Theyve got shit loosely defined allowed content guidelines, and choose to apply these guidelines to anime related stuff more closely because of bias. Its exactly the same shit with steam and vns.
Chicago Blackhawks the hockey team?
Cancel culture is pretty much a buzzword that has lost any meaning, if it ever had any. It's mixing under one umbrella various things like boycotting, court of public opinion, mob mentality on social media, celebrities being criticized and pretending they are persecuted even though they keep getting business deals, and companies just taking business decisions for various reasons but mostly for their bottom line, and pretend all of this is one big thing where randos on Twitter have power to move mountains. You don't have to explain whether you think some criticism is justified or not, just say it's "cancel culture" at it again, and you can wash your hands off from any attempt at understanding.
Which leads to people going to bat for poor crying billionaire JK Rowling crying persecution over being criticized for making dumbass hot takes to her millions of followers and leading to harassment of far smaller Twitter accounts, and the New York Times of all things bemoaning the "cancelling" of Woody Allen.
Can't wait for Roman Polanski, Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and Kevin Spacey to claim they were "cancelled" in a few years' time.
Actually
I've seen before criticism on the use of the Wendigo as a monster for stories
I can't remember the specific reason why it's considered by some cultural appropriation.
