There was a link to a well-sourced, well-thought out and articulated post somewhere about how Hollywood was literally effacing a part of the Native peoples' cultural identity by painting over a fragmented and often orally transmitted cautionary tale/important lesson to create a bogeyman that has no real relation to the monster of their tale. That post was, needless to say, largely ignored.
EDIT: Found it, for y'alls edification.

shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
Disgusting. More self-pitying nonsense. AQ Worlds is one of the most vanilla, "safe" web RPGs out there, and even they have a Wendigo: http://aqwwiki.wikidot.com/wendigo-monster How is this any different than Hollywood making the Egyptian and Japanese gods villains for Stargate? This line itself is rather hypocritical: "Plundering folklore for creature design is a tried-and-true part of how art develops, and mythology has been re-interpreted and adapted countless times into new stories – that’s how the whole mythology thing works. But when it comes to Native American mythology, it’s a good idea to apply a light touch."
So whats everyones favorite NP? or NPs
Can be for any reason honestly, aesthetic, affect, history ect.
Kazikeli is up there, LoD is as well, balmung i like aesthetically though it being another beam sword is eh.
You can also say what NPs you hate as well
My favorite one is probably Pashupata, especially the way it looks in Link (though I'll admit, in my head I always imagined it to be less of an explosion rain and more of the beams just striking each person individually as it "judges" them), but also because of the conceptual design. Then idk, I looked through every single NP, but couldn't think of another one that was like "wow that is a GREAT np design".
As for most hated, it's either Liz's castle/mic NP, not only because I hate liz with all my heart, but also because it feels like what is now the common "joke np" in FGO, but before that was the norm, and also not relegated to a gag installment. Otherwise it's probably Amakusa's NPs, just because I don't understand. I get that they're supposed to be like crystalizations of his arms and it's symbolic because they brought hope and shit to people, but how does that translate into something like "eternal youth" or "access every foundation"? In fact, the eternal youth one just feels really contrived, because what use would a servant EVER have for that outside of the VERY SPECIFIC scenario which he just managed to find himself in as well? And then he's able to combine them to effectively create a black hole, like, nothing about him has anything to do with that. I love Amakusa but damn those arms are shit.
I like Unlimited Rice Works because it's a noncombat NP but more important conceptually then the vast majority of FGO beams and memes.

Ganryuujima's disappointing because the climax of the ultimate sword fight of ultimate history was blowing up an island.

There's probably some other NP I hate more and some other NP I like more but with how many there are these days it's hard to recall them easily.
I love how Ionian Hetairoi is used in Zero though as ideal and argument given form.

Oh right, Troia Ippos is dumb as shit.

God Hand has good flavor about "You must be this heroic to stand up to Herk the pinnacle", I've always liked that.
I like Legend of Dracula. The way stories interact with Servants is one of my favorite aspects of them, and I think that NP in particular exemplifies it really well.
Excalibur, especially as presented in Fate route. Really important to the whole thing between Shirou and Saber. We know she got it from fairies yadda yadda, but there's still the neat notion of how Saber was so dedicated, the culmination of her entire life and legend is this brutally simple. None purer.
Also, always thought Eightfold Blessings of Amaterasu looked neat.
It generally feels like writer NPs are really wasted potential. There's a cool element of affecting the meta-narrative in a particular way, but they just end up doing random things like summoning ghosts or whatever. Andersen comes closest to what a literature NP should be like.
Unlimited Blade Works is my favorite one, Aestus Estus Domus Aurea is a close second.
Spoiler:
Probably a tie between W.F.D.'s wonderful memery and Akhilleus Kosmos effect and history (and "The Azure Sky Enclosing this Small World" sounding so good).
Unlimited Blade Works is still my favorite, not only because of what it represents, but also because I legit think is the f*cking coolest.
here is a list of my servant sheets(new and improved format for my servant sheets)
Come explore the White Library, and reach the bottom of this Abyss
Fate / White Memoria
Best for me was Benienma's. Good visuals, very Japanese, cute, and fits well with the character's whole concept.
I hate Space Ishtar's NP. It being a servant universe thing doesn't help. A bunch of references and syncretism are jammed into it.
I wish he had a NP based on his flag to mirror Jeanne, but nope.
One issue is that if you go the writer route all there NPs would look the same honestly.
Mirror looks cool, wish we could see it used outside of extella and extra, and at fullpower one day hopefully.
Fionns thumb np is accurate to the myth so i like that, Orion artemis hug is good as well
For me disliked nps tend to go 'wank/out of nowhere' and 'changing the myth to wank', so gate of babylon is one i despise with every fiber of my being, but even then it depends on how bias'd i am and how they write it, like I dont mind moriaty's DAKKA as its story relevant and is not normal for him

My favorites are still Knight of Owner and For Someone's Glory together. I just like how far they stretch the concept they're derived from without getting too far away from the hero they're supposed to represent. Enfer Château d'If is similar but I think it does go a bit too far. A Knight Does Not Die With Empty Hands is also one of the best NP names alongside Sword of Promised Victory and Dio Santissimo Misericordia de Mi.
Antares Snipe and Uraeus Astrape are also amazing NPs. As well as all of the original ones, except for Rule Breaker and Gae Bolg.
Aesthetically, Elementary My Dear, Excalibur Galantine and Arondight Overload are my favorites.
The worst one is Twin Arm Big Crunch, for the exact reasons fumei mentioned. There are probably worse ones if I really think about it, but I actually really like Amakusa so this one stings the most.

Oh yeah, Artemis Agnos is beautiful too. Goes into the best aesthetically as well.

I'm the opposite in regards to this one, The Dynamics of an Asteroid could've been great because I do like what they did with that concept in Shinjuku and his Bond CE, but the Magic Bullet Shooter shit ruins it. There may have been a justification for it in the chapter, but in reality what it actually does is solidify that as the Moriarty of Fate. I doubt we'll ever see him outside the fusion, and even if we do, they won't tackle the same subject.

If you had to make a normal Moriarty Servant without a Phantom fused with him, what class would you say? My mind defaults to Caster just because it's kind of become the "smart guys" class, but without saying Fate Moriarty was a mage I don't know what he could possibly have to qualify as Caster.
Avenger, naturally. The evilest of evils.
TBH it depends on what you'd give him as NP anyway.
