It's okay, Paradox. CK2 has kept going long enough. Time for sleep.

Is HoI4 worth getting now, or should I hold off until it's had more patches/DLCs?

Hm, I have to say, playing Ottomans in Kaiserreich, had to be one of the most fun runs I've ever done.

So, Imperator Rome came out today!
I wanna say I like it but I get flat out livid when that last 2k troops run around your country turning every province into the rebellion, also I can't figure out how to change religion, which kis kinda very bad for my Parnia>Parthian Empire run >_>
Also how the AI fights wars is awful
Completely ignore your stacks > just sack every city you have and run > meanwhile you have captured 80% of all their forts > another 5k made of light cavalry and light infantry from the enemy keeps recapturing everything and you can't capture them because they are too fast for anything heavy meaning neverending war

So, I actually just got to play EUIV today. Was really looking forward to it, because I loved EUIII.
My first impression: this game is really aggressive. The whole rival mechanic, and trivializing the creation of CB is telling everyone to forget any other plan and just go to war. Even the AI wastes no time in setting every country against every other country. I'm not sure if I like it.

EUIV did deal with the whole Ming taking over the world problem that I heard often happened in EUIII. It's been years since I played, but at least I remember that much. Also, for EUIV, it's probably best to start as France.
eu3 had the three big blobs
timurids, france, or ming would always take over the world, eu3+ fixed this problem, and the creator of eu3+ joined pdx and brought in a similar solution but yeah it eventually became more random as far as which nation blobs out (earlier versions of EU4 it would always be Ottomans, France, or Commonwealth I really mainly see Commonwealth blob out in current patch).

I haven't played in close to 5 years, so you're the boss on this one, but yeah, I remember those states having the easiest time of it. Also, does France still start in the same insanely good position it used to, or has that been nerfed? Last I remember, they started with 3 quite good generals, a strong army that can easily crush the English, a pretty quick opportunity to crush the Burgundians, and a decent manpower.
