She'd love to be the one who did all the cognitive activity in the collective, but... that wasn't what their origin intended when she was splintered off from the whole, huh?

Thus, here she was yet again, stuck in this filthy bar. Unfortunately, her talents lay in information gathering. Worse, information gathering from people, rather than objects, so she was the one stuck dealing with all the drunks and trying to piece together something useful.

... admittedly, if she was feeling this off about it, she could only imagine how the less socially adept nodes would feel in the same position.

And that wasn't even counting Rashid, the pious bastard. That node wouldn't be able to hold back from killing everyone in the room the moment that violation of the prophet's laws came into his vision.

Well, their Master knew better than to let him out into this debased modern world, at least. Even if he seemed to find that node's penitent behaviors... more enrapturing than he probably should.
