I got back into tennis after not touching my racquets for 8 years.

After spending March- April slowly getting my form back, late last month I threw out my shoulder something fierce, which has never happened before.

please give me my range of motion back

Rest ice and compression. Otherwise, make sure you haven't torn any ligaments that won't heal on their own.

Try 600mg of ibuprofen daily as well. Or your choice of nsaid.

After 2 weeks, pain is almost gone now. I didn't really feel the need for meds after the first week. Not really sure how to compress the entire upper right quadrant of my back.

Range of motion seems better? It still feels weird.

Last week I started doing kinetic stretches and (very) light drills again so I can get the blood flowing to the area and heal faster. Still not going to play until my shoulder feels as loose as before. I'm not a teenager anymore am I.

Also absolutely have to make sure to warm up from now on. Stupid to forget that, I probably only rarely got injured back then because I was always stretching and conditioning.

Good. Try out some rotator cuff exercises to keep everything in one piece.

I failed it at MEPS the last time. Believe me. I have practiced the shit out of it. I’m pretty good at it now, but for the last like 2 weeks I practice either duck walking or duck walking plus that god awful thing where you stand from having your knees on the floor in a single motion without using your hands.

every time I do that second one I always wonder if this is going to be the time I break every last one of my toes when they have to catch my weight.

And bring it on. I’m just about done with duck walking everywhere.

on the plus side despite some extra stress eating at my job I actually managed to lose a couple pounds over the last month. I don’t know how the hell that happened but it’s nice to be firmly under 170 again.

Good news is...I passed. Easily.

Bad news? I was then immediately informed I had to wait 15-45 days for my waiver, because I got lasik surgery.
