Square is usually pretty good about keeping voice actors. All of 7's spinoffs, as well their appearances in Kingdom Hearts, had the same cast up until Remake changed everyone. And the Crisis Core port is following that by using Remake's actors for the characters who were in that, as well as recasting the CC-exclusive characters.

I actually prefer almost everyone in the new cast except Zack. Zack is a real downgrade.
Actually I prefer old Sephiroth too but the new one is still good, it's not like how new Zack is just completely worse.

I never keep track of english voice actors in anything but since I was forced to play Crisis Core in English I have Strongly Held Opinions regarding Zack.

It's pretty funny thought that this edgelord Dark Knight doesn't even have a sword, and is just casting heal the whole time. I understand why they did it, DRK is not great when in a bunch of enemies. Still funny though. Kind of like how Y'mithra is a 'summoner'.

I think Angeal and Genesis are still the same actors, but they re-recorded their lines. Either that or they're great soundalikes.

Ah, scratch that, no. They've been recast too according to the wiki. Really good impressions then.

It does make you question the purpose since as far as I can find, the JPN actors are all the unchanged and I doubt they would be adding any new scenes so why bother recasting people in ENG? Surely the lip-synch and whatnot should all still be the same, no?

When the reveal happens it obviously female, but the quest giver model looks 100% male. Human/Miquote male at that.

The Coils? Yeah since they're not in roulette nobody is doing them. Your best bet is to make a group in Party Finder instead, or just do it solo/with a couple friends in Unrestricted Party mode which lets you go in at max level and stomp.

They're trying their best not to spoil the surprises of the Eikon battles, but give people a taste of it.

So I came across something interesting. Someone put the separate images from the trailer together and identify each figures.

From the looks of it, that figure isn't brand new at all, just Ifrit riding on Phoenix vs the other Eikons. Curiously, they're not depicted with divine halo like the rest.

After all the good news we've gotten so far, how did you all digest Square's diatribe about needing to focus more on a global market, a sign of dread, or is there a nuanced take to be found?

Considering how much internal pushback Yoshi-P normally gives about the NFT/blockchain stuff, I feel he is gonna be fighting the good fight to at least curb the greed of Square's CEO.
