It is possible that Servants were given circuits in order to facilitate their link with their Masters. Really, circuits are something new that were invented by magi after they fell from the level they attained during the Age of Gods.

IIRC, that rationalisation came up because food was confused about Artoria having circuits, when he thought that she was an Age of the Gods human. Since we now know that she's Age of Man, it's perfectly reasonable to say that her circuits are from life, and that there's no need for Servants to have been given them by their container. Occam's Razor.

Medea is the worst opponent towards modern magus out of any Servant even without a lesser Grail powering her. With Sakura's prana, she could likely solo the entire Clocktower.
