Well, that's not what was said in the interview. So what they were talking about was that Hiroyama was asked about how complete the overall Priya story was so. Hiroyama says the story is 8/10 of the way finished, and they're comparing story completion to like hiking up a mountain because apparently going up a mountain is divided up into ten stages. Maybe that's a Japan thing maybe that's a climbing thing, I don't know about climbing mountains. Though he says there could be another small mountain left after finishing up this mountain (essentially I guess he means he might have more to write about that's not related to the Ainsworth HGW). Task Ohna asks him about how complete the story was after 2wei, Hiroyama says 5/10 of the way. Task Ohna goes "10 volumes into 3rei and we've only progressed by 3 lol". Then Hiroyama goes "Yep. I thought that 3rei would end around the 7th volume. Even now, it feels like the climax is closing in, but I guess we have a long road ahead." Basically, things didn't go the way he thought and it didn't end around volume 7. And I think in that context, you'd use 冊 rather than 巻 to say something will be ending in X number of volumes.
