More than the movie, my eyes are on the upcoming figures.
The prototype for Saber Illya looked pretty good. I'll probably buy it regardless, but hoping her expression gets tweaked a bit and/or the colored images give it a different feel. All I'll really need after that is Berserker Illya, but wouldn't turn down quality figures of her other Classes.

Not what happened. WEP was a result of too much ambition from newbies and no one advicing them so they can match their ideas to a TV schedule and a shitty writer. That said, not even then was any episode done in a few weeks from scratch. There were reports that the finale special wasn't done few weeks before airing, but unfinished doesn't mean they didn't have anything done. It just means that they didn't finish it, but there was work done. Even Arifureta, for how flawed it was, needed a whole year to be finished after they scrapped WF's work because of the WN and LN author's public complaints against WF's unreleased versionOriginally Posted by Killua

The Berserker Miyu preview in the trailer was never a confirmation that we wouldn't be getting Berserker Illya too. We already know they're altering the fight scenes to fit the movie runtime, but they never said the story itself would be drastically changing.
Remember, a big part of Illya's character arc is overcoming the odds to save Beatrice from self-destructing, and she needs the Berserker card to do that. She uses the Berserker card in the Julian fight too, during which Miyu is indisposed. If the story is remaining largely unchanged, then Illya must get the card back from Miyu at some point before all this, whereupon things will probably start proceeding they way we remember from the manga.

If I were to make a guess based on the Beserker Miyu on the trailer being at the school, I think what's going on is they're adding a fight to the story. When Illya chases Tanaka to the school and she has her conversation with Erika they may have Miyu chase after them but then Sakura shows up and fights Miyu as the conversation inside is going on.
I can't believe they're going to animate the entire movie in this epic new artstyle.

Well you were almost spot-on right about this except that it wasn't against Sakura, but rather Beatrice.
Even with the notable exceptions, that's still releasing in more countries than I expected.
And yet I'll still be waiting for the home video version like a sucker because I don't want to waste time/money at a theater (or be seen watching this at a theater). Here's hoping "select digital outlets" includes Netflix Canada.

What do you guys think? OST during the Illya and Pandora scene kind of just killed the vibe that was being presented in the manga.
So they cut out Kuro's gratitude towards Shirou, Angelica and Shirou's chat which revealed some stuff unknown about Darius, Rin and Luvia talking about how sus the Ainzworths actions are, half of the snowball fight that was some character development for Shirou, the clothing scene, an important chat between Kuro and Shirou where she gets the Origin Bullet, some Tanaka antics, and gave us a Miyu and Beatrice fight that added nothing? If I didn't read the manga I would think this is good. But that's a lot of cut out stuff.
And yeah, the OST kinda diminishes the scene. The tone of the OST in that scene sounded off.
