I'll probably see everything except for Narrative, then. Everything else except for Unicorn was already in my plans anyway.

Seems like I have until May to see 109 episodes and a movie. Alright then.

I too am curious as to how they will handle Hathaway as HF was created as a sequel to Beltorchika's Children not Char's Counterattack and as things happened differently there, it meant that he goes down a different character arc than his CCA counterpart would have presumably gone.

Yeah, but he still let her kill a bunch of other people beforehand because he couldn't deal with his friend being a terrorist, right?

Oh hey, 0079 just dropped on Crunchyroll, for anyone who hasn't seen it. Dub and sub, too.

Gundam Zetta is still pretty good. I really hope Sayla appears though.
Captain Quattro is a CHAR?! What a reveal.
Weird that they use English there.

Almost halfway through the show, some of my friends complained that the middle of Zeta was slow, but I haven't been feeling anything like that.
Though, having only seen the 0079 movies before this, it is weird to have all these unique enemy commanders and pilots be introduced only to die a few episodes later, I guess they need to fill 50 episodes of content so they have to save Jerid and other relevant people for later. Like I said though, it hasn't felt slow or like padding yet.
I still think they could be using the massive amount of episodes better then they are though. Sayla is never mentioned again, Amuro falls in love 10 minutes after meeting the new blond, Four and Camille only get 3 episodes to develop their relationship... Tough the Four stuff was still good, even if it could've used more time.
One thing that I just can't get used to is mobile armors. I just didn't expect transforming mechs in Gundam. Even Zeta Gundam is one!
At least they are always accompanied by great animation, but still, should I be prepared for Megazord-style combinations next?

Lmao that's great
I'm glad that even on the toy show everyone is as shocked as I am
By the by, the Tryon 3 was actually based on the ZZ Gundam's own combining gimmick which here it is for comparison.
Whilst an interesting concept that pushes the limits of the Mobile Frame...Let's just say that thankfully no one in their right mind tried to mass produce the ZZ or incorporate its gimmick into later Mobile Suits in the UC timeline.
Love that theme though, so simple yet effective when it kicks in.

Sure, there were a bunch of MS in Victory that could change form or swap out parts for different situations on the battlefield, but the question pinetree was asking was about multiple mechs combing into one to make a new mech.
As for the "helicopter rotor", I am not unsympathetic to the notion that it can look really dumb, but it's the same basic principle of how battleships could fly in gravity back in the original series just now finally miniaturised onto MS - by shooting out Minovsky Particles around the area it weakens gravitational pull and then you simply use the thrusters on the mech to lift off and achieve pseudo-flight. They're not acting like a literal rotor on a helicopter but like I said, the animators definitely could've tried harder to make it look less silly.

"The animators could have tried harder" feels like it could be the tagline for all of Victory. Outside of the Finale and the Shrike team fights at least.

Man, watching that clip took me back. I miss Sakai, he was so good.
I've kinda taken a break in order to watch Evangelion on Netflix, but I definitely need to finish Zeta Gundam and ZZ at some point. I was about 30-35 episodes in, then just kind of got held off.
OG Gundam is a combining mech too. But iirc they removed that stuff in the movie.
I forgot how long that goes on for.
But I do remember a bunch of Monster of the Week episodes that start with them practicing the Fighter docking sequence becasue they were terrible at it.

Somebody needs to edit that to have beams and explosive effects.
