Well finally watched episode 7. Challia Bull really got a glow up this series, seems he is this universe's Char but possibly more competent, sane and less creepy. Nyaan and Machu on opposing sides is an interesting plot direction that I am looking forward to see. Shuji's 'ascension' to what lies beyond the Kira Kira as quite interesting, very convenient timing to avoid love triangle and possibly finding something to motivate him other than the Gundam. I think this is the first time we actually see a proper depiction of a newtype 'ascension' whilst still alive and not implied. Shuji floating was kinda weird though. Sad to see Deux go so soon, I liked her design, guess Earth pilots with nice designs are destined for short lifes. Overall great episode, left me wanting more. Happy for those who did not see the movie getting to see what was left out of the first three episodes next episode, personally disappointed since I want to see whats next.

While Shuji being a projection from Char in the Gundam would be a great twist, they've done a bunch of shots of him by himself in the hanger painting random stuff. You don't have a character wax poetically to himself only to reveal he never existed.

I do not think we have, but he absolutely physically exists and has gotten sick which I doubt a newtype phenomenon ever could.

See, if it was just Char messing with them, I could see that sort of thing. But talking to himself alone while painting his roof seems a bit far to go in a ruse to deceive people who aren't there at the time.

And lets face it, Char isn't much of an actor. Like the only reason Char Aznable works is because he's a nobody and no one has seen Casval for a long time. And then when he's trying to go incognito his next idea is big sunglasses and Four Vaginas.

I have hope for Deux to survive. The cockpit of Psycho (Mk. II) is in the head, if they don't change that

They know what they're doing by putting the rest of the flashback right before the big status quo shift.

This episode flew right by for me. The show is taking some wild swings and I love it. Shuji just peacing out like that was honestly hilarious. Also really liked the redesigns for all the mobile suits/armors.
Excited for what's next is all I'll say.

I hope they expand on the the bit from the movie because given what happens with Shuji, I think maybe love is the thing that causes you to nuke yourself into the afterlife.

Minor detail from episode 7 I remembered just now. Machu's classmates were in a knockoff McDonalds, however it was not the glorious return of the Macdaniel Hamburgers chain, instead it was a new knockoff called 'Wonder (insert inverted golden arches) land'. 0/10 show I will never watch Gundam ever again.
