Loyal dogs dying are the only things that have ever upset me when watching TV or movies, for as long as I can remember. Guaranteed, if a dog dies I will get misty eyes.

Not only on TV or movies, but also in RL. There are so many unfair and stupid people. A dog may be loyal to them for its hole life, but a lot of them are abandoned when they get old or ill. And I didn't even mention the mistreatment during their lives.

Oh yeah, of course RL is megasad. I just don't encounter it as often where I live. I donate money to my shelter just before Christmas because lord knows they'll need it in a month :/

Indeed. People tend to abandon more animals on December because of Christmas and holidays. It's sad.
I found my mutt during a rainy week, on December. We wasn't intending to keep him, then we treated him (he was full of scabies, fleas, ticks, and worms; he was so weak that if we hadn't caught him, he'd probably die) and tried to take to a shelter, but all of them was full. Thus, obviously, we didn't throw him out and ended up keeping him.
Every minute with him after finding him was worthy, and we regret nothing. He turned into a beautiful and kind dog. One of the kindest I've ever seen, and he gets along very well with any person or animal

Oh God, I couldn't even watch this. I literally had the DVD in my hands, and I couldn't bring myself to watch this. The story was sad enough. OTL

I know right. People adopt, or even buy animals, but then see they need care and anything else, therefore they give up and abandon them.
