Nah, it doesn't. That being said, if Mahoyo is still canon, her age likely ain't changing.

Also, 5th Magic slows/stops aging, right?

Wait... Mahoyo is set in the 80's right? And Aoko is a highschooler there.
Do we have confirmation the remake will take place in present day and not early 2000's?

Wait, I thought the remake would still take place in the early 2000s. Of all the TM works, only FGO is actually set in present day/<10 years ago.

It was in Mahoyo. She's definitely in her late 20s by Tsukihime if we do the math, if not her early 30s.

But if she's a highschooler in 86 she'll be in her early 30's in 2000.

Just a quick glance at HF from Ufotable makes it clear as day that when the sex scene is important to the relationship with the heroine (rather than just some thinly justified piping to hit the H scene per route quota such as Rin or Saber) it'll be there, in some way. I honestly have enough faith that I think a less explicit version of Kohaku's post-coitus CG, which is one of the most well drawn ones in the entire VN, will find its way into the remake.

You can reasonably argue that Nasu is not the same person who wrote Tsukihime 20 years ago and doesn't share all the opinions he had back then, nor does his mentality toward storytelling line up that well with his past self either, but at the very least he hasn't become a prude. Sexual themes are present in almost everything he touches and if CCC is anything to go by the man likes anime booby. I don't necessarily believe our ancient rumor-like mindreads that the H scenes were forced in solely at Takeuchi's behest. I expect to see him play dangerously close to the line that Sony establishes.

In the worst of scenarios it isn't as though the remake releasing deletes your copy of Tsukihime from your PC and kills all download links online while simultaneously reducing every physical copy to dust.
I started writing another longpost, but the tl;dr is I wish I had that faith.

Including the "killing all download links online" bit.

I read Tsukihime back in 2015, so I'm happy the remake finally has a release date. Hope we get a translation or NA release.

Well, first iPhone's started coming out in 2007 so could still be mid 2000's up to present day. :|

What's funny about this is that no one in the school is using smartphones in the OP so I thought I was safe until the very last shot of the crowd in the crossing before the MEoDP vision kicked in.
    More specifically, it's this shot:

There's another guy looking at his phone like it's a smartphone too.

    Dang it.

FGO's set in the present day because it's a somewhat real-time thing, but note that Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime were also set in their years of release and were "present day". Kara no Kyoukai was also originally released in '98-'99 before being compiled into volumes in '04, so were fairly "present day" as well.

None of these works have rolling dates, not even F/GO - they're all set whenever they're released. If you start F/GO today, they'll talk about the world ending in 2016 (or 2018, for NA players).

The stuff that isn't set in "present day" as of release are the derivative works that directly compare themselves to other works: Fate/Zero's ten years before F/SN, Mahoutsukai no Yoru's in the late 80s because it depicts the youth of an adult character, etc. (Also Fate/Extra's set 20 years into the future, I guess.)

The big question with Tsukihime is whether or not they're going to stick with the original date or shift it forward to 202X, I guess, but to be honest I'm not sure how much would even change? It's a lot less entangled with other works and the timeline seems fairly malleable.

Maybe it'll take place in the year Nasu started writing the remake.

I was thinking 2012 because Nasu was busy with Mahoyo until then.

Fate/strange fake is set in ~2009, even though it was released far later.

Also, since the concept of Tsukihime worlds and mixed worlds exist now, TsukiRe is absolutely more intertwined with the overall timeline than it seems.

I dunno man I always had it in my head that Shiki was older than Shirou, and now changing it for him to be younger just feels kinda weird.

If Tsukihime plot happens on 202x, that will be a strong indication that Nasu planned the announcement after the 20th anniversary.
