I was generalizing when I said that, and it's not just you, and that's what appears to me, it's not specifically nostalgia, but some weird attachment to old works which devolves in something completely irrational about it.
imagine thinking that removing the H-scenes ruins everything, just because it's a change from the original, it's like they can't even think how something can be better or more interesting because Tsukihime ascended to astronomical proportions of godlike status that any touch in it is an heresy to perfection.

It wasn't explicit though. Kohaku is confirmed in the text to have been raped by Makihisa. Suzui tried suicide but what exactly Kamoshida did to her is still left to interpretation, heavily implied as it might've been.

I'll rephrase I am not against new people getting into tsukihime, I am against changing tsukihime so more people can get into it.

Would you extend that to the visual quality as well?

Nasu says that in the setting of part 2 none of the characters but Sion are still around, and that even if Tsukihime characters were to exist in Fate’s world, more than half of them would be completely different, and that while Arcueid might be the same, Akiha and Shiki would probably never come to Chaldea.

Nasu says that characters like Arcueid and Ciel would still be able to fight even if their settings changed and thus might be easier to handle in a story, but stresses that he thinks that even then the worlds of Fate and Tsukihime entwining would be a very rare occurence.

But yeah, honestly. It's a multiverse setting where canon is flexible. I'll be annoyed if they change it too heavily, but I'll get over it. Both versions will be official in their own right. The sex scenes can stay or go. However, with things like Catherine, God of War, and the Witcher being successful with ero, I'm not sure it's a deal killer to drop it.

Besides, it's not like people don't know TM made hentai.

The thought that the remake actually being a thing means all of the tsukihime characters will also be put into FGO is one I will try to keep denying until it happens, then I will probably have to sate myself with calling fgo shit for another half a year until the pain numbs.

I have to point out again that TsukiRe will have to contend not only with Sony (which has a bevy of less than child-friendly titles on their console anyway), but also with Nintendo, who has been a paragon of less than reasonable decisions in terms of censorship in the past.

Removing the H scenes doesn't instantly ruin everything because it's a change from the original. It ruins everything (or at least potentially changes the story to such a degree as to render it an entirely different story) because the H scenes are an integral part of the story. I gave Realta Nua a ton of grief over this, but F/SN was far more capable of functioning as a story without its porn tham Tsukihime ever could be.

I never expected it to get good, I've just accepted that this is all Type Moon is able (or at least willing to) make these days.

In the end, Nasu is a 40-something sarariman who likes playing videogames. He still likes writing (I assume) and he still writes content that's at least mildly entertaining. If he's satisfied with that, I ain't gonna be the one to kidnap him and strap him to an electric chair so he can channel the pain of his nerves frying into Mahoyo 2.

This, incidentally, is why I'm advocating against the removal of the H scenes; not because it can't be done, but because doing it in a way that faithfully preserves all the themes of the original is probably more effort than current era Nasu/Takeuchi/TM as a whole are probably willing to invest.

Yeah I think elitism about this is misplaced. There's no more survival for VNs except for licensing which costs nothing and is a finite resource or to sell mobage. Nobody reads these anymore.

Those opinions are absolutely clouded by nostalgia, and Tsukihime was a product of it's time and place. Nasu has changed since then, and Tsuki RE is being produced in a different time and place. With that in mind, change us inevitable and acceptable, either for newer fans or for Nasu himself.

The times have changed and tables have turned, man. Nintendo has gotten looser and Sony has gotten stricter, if you're getting a lewd game on console you need to get it on switch because its quite possible the sony one has extra censorship.

For example, a VN I personally love: Aokana. Switch version is the normal all-ages stuff: No explicit pornography. PS4 version is the switch version but with censored CGs and removed scenes.

Probably the most famous and memed example, another VN I really like: Noratoto. I already posted this, but the fuckhuge light beams? They aint the switch version.

It's not, I've seen many people glorify the h-scenes for little bits of characterization, but it's still something that you can do with any other way of writing, to claim that they can't is absurd.
Still, it doesn't ruin everything, which is another exagerattion.
