Basically the market became more and more polarized once people realized that low dose H keeps you from publishing on consoles which were far more available to the average JP gamer (at the time, nowadays I think the trend might actually reverse a little, vtubers streaming apex is gonna save the vn industry if you just believe) than a functional PC.

It became increasingly stupid to bait people into buying a game with H, since if you sold it without H you could theoretically reach 3 times the userbase. All ages console releases of established titles solidified this, and thus the remaining reason to stay on PC was cutting out the platform holder if you wanted to make porn. Thus PC only releases are more often nukige than not.

Source: extermination of basically every "plot game" focused company and a short look at new VN releases every now and then.

It's like 100% certain there will be no actual porn scenes in the remake anyway, the main question is will they rewrite the story to remove any sort of sexual/erotic elements entirely or will we have them still happen, just not explicitly shown/told to us in detail. Personally I'd really rather they didn't rewrite the entire thing to pretend it never had the rape and other sexual elements in it.

Len's dreams will be changed into backstory exposure as she is ordered to do something more constructive, and digs out repressed memories. There's a scene after that where Arcueid pets a black cat.

By the way, they probably aren't going to have Kiri's or Makihisa's faces in it, but Kouma appears and is an important character in far side, maybe giving Shiki some direct exposition about what happened with Makihisa and hinting at Kohaku not being right in the head. Also, Miyako shows up and tries to break into the mansion as comic relief, prompting exposition about the Arimas. Screencap this.
