Kinda disappointing we got nothing for the anniversary, but I can't say it isn't unexpected.
Considering how close we're to the New Years Stream, it just makes sense to wait until them *if* they're actually going to announce something.

I had a thought that, IF nasu was actually working on the remake, you think he had to do rewrites to the script due to the sheer difference in era's culture/feel/tech (2008ish vs 2020)
Yeah, there's that. #metoo is/was a thing; having a rapist MC is especially rough now and clashes with his Carnival Phantasm and Melty image. There's another round of child abuse, which may be seen as overused after Sakura and insensitive in the face of Epstein blowing up. And that's assuming they don't make Len more significant. Then there's the uncomfortable similarity between Covid and Vampirism as a spreading plague. The threat of a serial killer seems smaller in comparison as well with the decline in that sort of crime in the intervening years. There's way more besides, too. And ofc, there's having to reconcile it with the expanded lore of the setting.

EDIT: Also, let's be real here; Shiki raping Arc is probably not actually rape. Seems like she Enchants him there via Mystic Eyes. She seems to literally be forcing him, and is more than powerful enough to stop him if she wanted to.

Fujino was also a rape victim who ended up killing innocents and she got a movie out of it. Let's not act like Kohaku would be too much for a visual novel, come on.
Not to mention the rape gets you a bad end. The story isn't exactly trying to show that's okay.
Uh no that was not how that scene went down. Shiki saw Arc's eyes and his Nanaya instincts went haywire. He tried focusing on anything but murder and got locked into horny, then either you choose for him to stop and the route continues as normal, or you let him continue and after Arc says 'no really it's fine' after he apologizes she kills him like a day later. She didn't force him to do anything, holy shit.
