Why was it a "dick move"? They wanted people to see the trailer. Fate is guaranteed views. And it was successful.
I haven't seen normies take interest in Tsuki for, like, ever. I'd dare say this trailer is the most amount of attention Tsuki has ever gotten period.
If this is about Tsukihime "becoming" part of the Fate series, that association is inevitable. It always has been. I would say most people that fell in love with Tsuki did so after having experienced Fate.
You see hardcore fans and normies aren't so different when it comes to their entrance points to a franchise. The difference is whether they're willing to listen to the people that are already part of the fanbase.
The game's still called Tsukihime not Fate/lunar princess. They're just using the association to their advantage.

Simply hope that we can have general type moon celebrations instead of F/GO or Fate celebs (with other stuff appearing as guest appearances/shoved in) in the future.
Tsukihime has been sidelined for Fate for so long, it was poetic justice that Tsukihime hijacked a Fate stream.
