Considering the massive expectations for it at this point, there's virtually no chance that it won't end up being somewhat underwhelming in one way or another.

There is a chance that, if the release is something with no repercussion, things won't receive the hype backfire effect as we are still talking about Visual Novels, it is not a media where people would complain of the final product being underwhelming. There is a common sense that VN is already an underwhelming media by nature so the expecatations, even with 10+ years of wait, will never be as high as people usually do with AAA.
However, even for VNs, the most intelligent thing to do is to always announce when you have everything ready and make the wait for the release just a marketing promotion strategy.

Now, being honest here, sometimes I even think cancelling the remake would be a more apropriate conclusion to all this shit show. I think even Nasu at his almost 50 should be tired already of all this.

All im expecting is tsukihime with modern production values. i dont think thats impossible to live up to.

but if were talking impossibilities, my heart keeps clinging to the delusion that tsukihime would open doors to more non-servant material and the resurrection of ye olde type moon spirit, but my mind knows that after tsuki remake is out they'll discard it like "phew, glad that shits finally done and over with" and jump straight to fate extravaganza and whatever the exploitative successor to grand order ends up being.
