Just wanted to ask. I read in an interview that nasu completely separated themes of ataraxia and DDD and didn't do it because of time constraints. Doesn't that mean DDD has connected to rest of the nasuverse but how it's connected isn't written yet?
Well, so far, the only connection is the name(or rather nickname) of a single minor character(Meruka Kuramitsu) but that's kinda obvious. I haven't seen any other pointers to such relation in any interviews that I've read. I mean, we have a 3rd volume to wait for, maybe we'll get some more hints.
Spoiler:
>Ward D patient called "Kuramitsu Meruka"
>Stated to have no connection to the KnK character of the same name
>Who took his nickname from """"a book""""
>Ward D patient called "Heartless"
>Now also the alias of the main antagonist in Case Files
>Connection or not a pattern emerges
>The only Ward E patient, Origa Marine
>Found already dead in a special hospital room by Kanata during the breakout
>Nothing is known about why this patient merits this distinction
>Origa Marine
>Orga Marine
>Olga Marie
>A character who in BAA Nightmare was implicated in a dimensional crossover
>The crossed-over worlds are connected through people who exist in one world and are dead in the other
>Consider the doctor working at Origa who had direct contact with the demon possessed held there
>Doctor Roman, who has been erased from existence in the FGO world
>THEREFORE
>Olga Marie was pulled through the black hole into the DDD world
>Was locked up in Origa either because of her dimension travel or magecraft
>Special Ward for "symptoms" beyond even those displayed by the Ward D demon possessed
>Under medical care due to her mental trauma
>Developed Agonist Disorder and acquired her clown powers as a result of said trauma
>Took advantage of the breach in Origa security during Kanata's rampage and returned to her original FGO world
>Left only the corpse of a person that should never have existed behind
>As the corpse of Kanata was once discovered already dead in a room in Shuumatsu Rokuon
>So returns the patient from Ward E
>The E standing for End
>The VII of the End
>VII
>7 years from the last appearance of a DDD character in 2013's April Fools and Shuumatsu Rokuon to Olga Marie's 2020 reemergence in FGO
>Planned All Along
>DDD was put on hold so the plan could be fully realised first
>The plan to reveal 'the Beast that Heralds the End'
>Heralds the end
>The end of DDD

Figures. So i guess there's no more doubt that Arika is actually grown up Soujuurou Shizuki with a bad case of amnesia due to PTSD, since Aoko had bit his arm off when he burnt the udon again, and Kanata is Heracles pseudo servant summoned by Chaldea that had been transformed into Origa Clinic and transported to Japan thanks to Zelretch giving Magical Ruby to Kohaku.
>Origa - 檻我 - 'cage', 'I'
>Literally caged in Origa
>Marine - 鞠音 'ball', 'sound'
>Marie - マリー
>ー - 長音符, lit. "long sound symbol"
>Sound symbol -> 音
>鞠 - 'ball'
>Animusphere

The Animusphere chant spells Animus as 我の形.
And オリガ is a properly recognized spelling of Olga.

Inb4 the connection is confirmed in a FGO event.
After so many years, it's been confirmed that DDD is yet another FGO prom.

keep 'em comin'
I know that it's just funposting, but I'm personally convinced that Origa Marion was meant to be a very important character in DDD if it had continued. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure that 檻我鞠音's spelling it's not Origa Marine but rather Origa Malion. Exactly the same as the Malion coffee shop and "Malion in day dream". Adding to it, Kanata called her "fucking thieving cat" (ファッキン泥棒猫) because she could have been Arika's ex-girlfriend. I've also read some Japanese theories that relate her to the "woman that was cured and regained her sanity but then closed up her heart after realizing her sins".
As for the Olga Marie connection, wellSpoiler:
