Just.... Don't go with the overly silly type Shirou. I wanna see competent single dad Shirou.
The kind that took on the burning general without any hesitation because it's his daughter damnit!

You know, someone should write a proper story for Vajra, rather than just snippets.
With each day, one draws closer to death,
With each day, one expends more of one's life,
With each day, one obtains more memories,
With each day, one gets closer to losing them all.
Yes, someone should. I'm looking at You. *Points in a random direction.*
It'd be nice 2 see Vajra written as a proper story, though we should probly ask Iron for the OK.
We can just have Santo and Iron work together on it like Hero/Fraggle...
Since Iron is out of time and plot, just leave the plot and development for Santo, and Iron can keep the proof-reading/betatesting/that-kind-of-stuff part.
And of course, we can ask him for a little information leak about the astronomical levels of "acidental" fluffiness.
Or something like that.

Exxelent, more writings to fill this thread. Have some more Signum while I'm at it:
"just so you know, I'm willing to call you mother if the two of you finally decide to get serious..."
"Moth...., wait wait! It's not like that! I'm not like that...... we're not like that......"
"Why is it that the two of you can face world-ending eldritch abominations in mortal combat without a sweat but get all worked up at the first hint of romance?"

Fate has a good point.
Being strong is normal, but not even dropping an sweat against those things? That's really something...
No, forget it. More important than that...

While I do agree with the cyclical stuff, placing the blame on the cast is a rather bad thing to do, since the thing was supposed to end with the SS arc. He ran out of ideas back then, and now all he can do is try drawing some new stuff and see if the fans will smile.
Code Geass' cast is pretty inflated. With Bleach, it's less the cast, and more the fact that Kubo seems to be turning the story into a circle where the plot is the same and only the characters change (I won't talk about the non-existant backgrounds and manga powerlevels, I don't want to go back there... Zenieth knows for sure).
Fraggle, you freaking tease. Why do you always leave me wanting more!
Teasing the Penguin God!

---START---
It was a fairly normal morning in the Emiya household. Despite being a household made up of a failed magi with threats of a Sealing Designation over his head and his adopted daughter who happened to be an artificial mage made by a despairing and insane woman to replace her deceased daughter, it was still fairly normal.
Well, save for one little change in the daily schedule.
As Shirou sipped his morning tea, he took note of his daughter's demeanor. He might still be rather... dense in the head, a fact that the Takamachi patriarch and matriarch took far too much pleasure in pointing out at times, but it was obvious even to him that something was troubling Fate. In fact, he would bet money her concerns were the same as what they had been last night and many days and nights prior. He supposed it was understandable.
Today would be Fate's first day of high school. As such, she would have to deal with everything that came from changing schools. Her new school was located a fair distance from where she had attended middle school and she had little to no idea what to expect. The unknown was meant to be a terrifying thing after all. It is simply the nature of it.
The blond haired girl sat in her chair despondently as she ate, appearing to enjoy the considerable breakfast her father had crafted for her but not nearly so much as she might have under other circumstances. It mattered not how childish she knew she was being, it did not stave off the worry and nerves that knotted themselves together in her belly. It had taken long enough to adjust to middle school even with help from her friends and father. High school would be a far more imposing and intimidating beast. She was scared.
She, who had faced down the horrors of the corrupted Defense Program, gone to aid her father against a Dead Apostle, and had done battle against Signum of the Wolkenritter, was scared of going to a new school. It sounded a little silly; and she would admit it rather was. Still... There was something she could understand and sympathize with in all those dangerous situations. School was a whole other type of battle.
What if she wasn't in the same class as her friends? What if she embarrassed herself? What if she didn't have anything to talk about? What if she couldn't learn everything properly? What if... What if...
"You know..." Her father's voice cut through her thoughts like one of his many swords through jelly. Ruby eyes looked up from a plate of half eaten breakfast. Shirou appeared to have a slightly awkward look on his face, a sign he was having trouble putting into words what he was thinking. "When I went off to the Clock Tower with Rin, I didn't know what to expect. I imagine it was like what you're going through now."
Fate nodded slowly, the bangs of her golden mane bobbing slightly. Her father never really talked about that place called the Clock Tower. Even if she had met Rin once before and a few other people who claimed to come from there, it was stilly such a mystery to her.
Shrou set his tea down and crossed his arms, appearing deep in thought. "At last, I hope it was. Otherwise I don't know if what I say will be of much use to you..." Sympathizing with accumulated experience was one thing when it came to weapons. It was another when it came to his daughter.
"What... was it like?" Her calm, slightly hesitant voice prompted him to continue. Fate could tell her father was trying his best. Maybe his words would help, even if it ended up not being a similar experience at all. It was a college of magic whereas she would be attending a very mundane high school. The fact she could throw lightning probably would not go over very well with a great many people there.
"Hmm... I would have to say it was unnerving. I was a failure of a magus who was only attending thanks to Rin pulling a few strings. Everyone there was some sort of nobility and not a soul saw the world like I do." He nodded and closed his eyes for a moment. "Even with Rin there, I still felt pretty alone."
Rin had been perhaps his sole companion at the Clock Tower, but even she could only understand him to a certain degree. Even making contacts and friends over the years, there was always a wall that separated him from everyone else. If it wasn't one clash, it was another. And even then, he was a sword.
And a sword is not human.
There is a limit to how far a human and a nonhuman can understand each other; for they see the world in completely different ways.
He would have to admit however; that he felt a great deal more human now than ever before. Time, experience, and a family had changed his world in so many ways...
Fate spoke up after a few minutes of silence had passed, worried Shirou might have gotten lost in his thoughts. She fact his brow could not seem to decide whether to stay furrowed or raised in what could be amusement worried her slightly. "Father...?"
Shirou blinked and shook his head. "Sorry. I lost myself there." He set his hands on the table. "But things worked out in the end. I persevered. I had a dream to fulfill. I had people with me for support. I even had a few rivals to push me forward. No matter how worried I became at times, I continued to move forward. For better or for worse" More often for the worse, but that little detail was something Fate didn't need to hear right now. The number of times he'd screwed something up was something that would probably go down in the record books of the Clock Tower.
There was a nod of understanding from the girl as she drank in her father's words. It... made sense. How hard had it been? How far had she pushed herself under he mother's orders? No matter how hurt and frightened she'd been, she continued onwards. And there were no life or death battles of raging magic at school.
Perhaps it was the difference of the terror. The difference of the unknown before her which had driven her into a corner so. Not all her problems could be solved with a lightning bolt or a swing of her axe. Perhaps that had been a crutch she had relied on during her rather nonstandard middle school days. Not knowing how what she already knew would be of use in this new chapter of her life had shaken her.
A slight coloring of red adorned her cheeks as she gripped her utensils. "I... feel a little silly now." To think it had taken this long to realize something so simple was rather embarrassing. The fact Shirou shared the same sort of expression as he scratched the back of his head made her realize he'd come to a similar conclusion. They'd wasted so much time on something so easily remedied. "Th-Thank you father."
Shirou laughed with amusement. "It's a father's job to look out for his chid. I just wish I'd figured out how to help you sooner. Now eat up, you'll have to get going soon." He pointed to the clock on the wall and Fate seemed to pick up the pace after jumping in surprise. They'd been talking for a while after all.
A short time later as he watched Fate take her leave alongside Hayate, Nanoha, Suzuka, Arisa, and Yuuno, he realized something very important.
Fate would be just fine.
He smiled and went about washing the dishes, doing his best to ignore the prick of sadness in his heart as he once more was forced to admit his little girl was growing up.
Fate would be just fine...

Read it.
It was nice, I'd say. A bit of fatherly contemplation there.
Not a lot to it aside from that and Fate's insecurities being heartwarmingly doused by Shirou's wise words, but for its length that is immediately forgivable.
Though still no mommy Signum. WHERE IS THE SIGNUM X SHIROU IN VAJRA?! šAš
