Wow, that's super fascinating. They're totally right that there's a different feel to each, even if they're the exact same. The individual notes make them feel detached from each other, while paired give it a connection The four feel like they'd show up in the middle of a melody and the paired in the middle of a bunch of other paired notes. Also the drummer constantly going to town, and ripping on the sax solo bring me back to the old school band days.

I think a lot of it is a matter of perception. For a real novice they're pretty much the same thing (i.e. I would play them the same way) but a pro who has much more context to draw from would play each of them distinctly different ways just based on experience with similar notations.

I've been feeling extremely depressed lately and I'm finding it difficult to keep it together. Current events certainly aren't helping either. I don't know what I might end up doing as I slide into an ever deepening despair.
After writing similar messages out in other places and then deleting them before posting them I finally sent it here. This isn't a cry for help, at least I don't think it is. I just couldn't keep it to myself any longer.
I’m glad you are working to get these feelings on the outside, but if I can offer some advice, the internet isn’t really the best remedy for depression. Speak to family if you can. If you can’t, I highly recommend the services of a therapist or psychiatrist.

Been having some odd issues with my Mac recently, so I decided to upgrade to the lastest OS that I've been putting off for a while. Turns out after I boot the new one up, a bunch of my old programs aren't supported anymore. Some of those aren't too big a loss, a new torrent clinet here, a new itunes there, but half my steam library is now inaccessible. No Bioware RPGs, no point and clicks, No visual novels (what few of them are there).

In better news, I've got a new dog around the house. He was a puppy used by vet school students that got too old so they adopt them out after a year or two. We were going to get him mid April originally but Corona meant they were shutting down the school anyways so they waived all the fees to get them out the door early. Only thing is they didn't get a chance to neuter him yet, which may have been the final test for all I know.

I hope you have open space you can take him to near where you live, young dogs can be VERY energetic and they need excercise to get it out of their system. Especially if it's a larger breed.
