oh, and computer update:

played around with prices for new pc build and upgraded my parts for -50 USD. So instead of 880 USD I could get the whole thing for 830 USD. Got a less expensive power supply (and it's still gold at 550w = no loss), SSD (also still at 250GB = no loss), and a better GPU (from a i5 7600k --> i5 8600, so a 4 core to a 6 core). power wattage is 301w, so it saves on electricity bills + the cooler i got is a macho rev b so it'll be extra quiet and have more than enough power to stay, oh, i dunno, under 60 C for games like AC Odyssey on high settings. Only 8GB RAM and a 1060 3gb though.

Could've got an i7-8700 for 300 USD but that'd be overkill for my needs.

Haven't bought it yet to see what happens next month but this'll probably be the build i'll go with.

Absolutely do not stint on the PSU. Much better to invest an extra buck in a pricey "brand name" one with decent failsafes and surge protection than to just get one that matches the specs and risk having the mobo fried whenever there's an outage. Sure, freak occurrence, but so is getting hit by lightning and you still don't stint on lightning rods.

early i might've disagreed as it's from corsair but after doing more research the seasonic (my original choice) is worth the extra. Have to wait for things to go on sale again, though.

Gonna hold off on it for black friday/christmas anyway. Maybe I can snag better deals.

If I do get a good deal, I'd get i7 8700 + 1070 gtx (I missed one for both yesterday, in fact a bit bummed about that).
