it wasn't really confirmed to be hall-effect, might have been closer to TMR, I just know it was somewhere in between. Though in any case, sucks we still have to deal with this shit from first party controllers.

According to the greatest source of all, reddit, v2-v5 of the dualshock 3, with serial number CHEZNEHZ2 or something, had actual hall effect- though later revisions replaced it with something else. No technical confirmation of it though.

It's not really hall-effect, if you're interested in buying controllers that don't use the usual drifting ones nowadays, Chinese manufacturers have moved onto TMR, which are generally better.

Some saucy bits:
- the owner of gurochan was a janitor on 4chan (seems rather like a conflict of interest to say the least)
- /tg/ had ELEVEN janitors while /qst/ only had one. This explains just about every concern I had with the board, turns out it was just overmoderated to hell and back. I guess everyone and their mom likes to pretend they play tabletop games. The /j/ thread about the board split is an excellent case example of mods hyping each other up about a terrible idea only wanted by a single very loud guy, and then being too proud to roll it back after overwhelmingly negative response from the userbase.
