Fuck the new line of GPUs are way too expensive. Fucking crypto farmers ruining everything, even after the only "profitable" GPU mining coin has been dead in terms of farming for four-ish months now.

Also, the audacity of Nvidia trying to release the "4080 12GB" as that. Shouldn't even be a 4070-ti, should be a 4060-ti if we're comparing it to relative performance levels of previous GPU generations to their flagships. Wanted to upgrade so I can give my sister this current 6700XT but probably not doing that anytime soon.

That doesn't have anything to do with cryptobros anymore. Nvidia just realised people really will buy even at absurd pandemic-level prices as long as they ensure no cheaper option remains (hence why they're cutting down production of the 3000 series early).

It has everything to do with crypto because Nvidia and AMD are still pricing relative to when crypto was buying them, despite the fact that crypto mining with GPUs largely died when Ethereum hit proof of stake Q3 2022 or so.

Ended up buying a 6950XT for ~760 USD with tax since it's within spitting distance of what the 4070-ti is doing and came with the current AMD game bundle that my sister will probably enjoy playing once Dead Island 2 comes out. Dunno how good/bad Calisto Protocol is, not really hoping for much there.

Never said crypto people were going to buy the new line of GPUs like they were the previous line, only that Nvidia is using how crypto would buy all the 30 series at whatever prices they could get to justify the stupidly high prices of the 40 series.
