I got a package with bubble wrap yesterday. Unpackaging it made me reflect on the ephemeral and deeply saddening existence of bubble wrap.
Think about it: it serves to protect the package, usually going unpopped, but after unwrapping it, people pop it for no reason.
Being bubble wrap really is a thankless job.

Since today is international "talk like a pirate day" I figured I'd type my talking in pirate speech but then I realised it sounded just as ear grating in text as I sound in real life...so I won't.

So with the Federal Election tomorrow, I found the right wing fringe party having a rally on the side of the road as I was biking around town today. One lady was holding an anti-vax sign and shouting "My Body, My Choice", and since I had to hang around for a minute waiting for the signal at the crosswalk, I asked "isn't your party really anti-abortion? Why are you using a pro-choice slogan?". And they just looked at me like they had no idea what I was talking about. Then the light changed and I continued on my trip to the park.

I am officially licensed to operate as a security guard in two countries now and it never ceases to amaze me how much paperwork you need for a job whose description ranges between "cheaper than a real security system" to "stand and get yelled at".

I just realized after 20+ years of being an X-Men fan that Destiny's actual name of Irene Adler is a Sherlock Holmes reference. And that it fits with Mystique" being Raven Darkholme.
