What's worse, dating your best friend or being best friends with your ex?

Probably being best friends with your ex? Because you'd always still have feelings for each other that might impact the friendship?
Or might impact future relationships?

There are some days, just being friends with the guy I like, is torture. Usually those are our "off" days... where we just stare at each other and are unsure what to say. But there are other days when it is the best thing ever. Where his presence, attention, and humor cheer me up & makes it wonderful.

It can be awkward because my desire is still there for more. And the uncertainty of what he "really" feels and where we're going drives me nuts. Whether he'd ever want more. Nevermind the fear that he'd get stolen away even though it is his choice & I have to respect that. So I just give him his space so he can do what he wants & hope he includes me.

However, he's not my ex. Pretty sure you have to date first to achieve that status. Or have an official romantic/sexual relationship.
And periodically remind him that he's a sexy ninja. X3
And before anyone says anything, I'm fine. I'm just letting things flow naturally. If it develops into something, great. If not, I'll enjoy it while it lasts and find someone else eventually.

I agree with the others; ideally, the person you are dating/having a relationship with should be your best friend. You should be able to talk about anything, be honest & trust each other, love & respect, etc etc. And having common interest, hobbies, etc are good.
