Why do people honk at me when I’m driving the speed limit?
Speed limit’s 55mph. At least 25% of people are going at least 70.
I don’t understand the American Highway system… I miss the autobahn.
When I was a beginner driver, I was advised (I forget by whom) to just drive as fast as everyone else in my lane. That does mean the crowd is setting the speed limit by consensus without talking it over and it can technically land you a speeding ticket, but I was told it was the "safest" thing to do.
O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed you have not already collapsed in ruin.
Do you want to drive legal, or drive safe? Driving slow when everyone else is speeding may be legal, but it can be legitimately dangerous, because morons will try to overtake you from the wrong lane or else stick on your ass honking and flashing and generally being a rear end waiting to happen (to say nothing of potential road rage). It sucks, but often the safest thing to do is to drive at the speed of the next slowest driver, regardless of where that stands on the speed limit. Don't go faster than you're sure you can control your vehicle at, but don't just stick to your guns doing 65 when everyone is doing 90 either.
