How does one character saying "sorry to keep you waiting," make any difference over another character saying the same thing for the same reason? Besides in the case of Kid Icarus, the wait was 25 years. Which I think is longer than Metal Gear. Though I'll do a source check in case I'm wrong.

As for who defends the story, thousands of it's fans. And me. Granted, I can see why you might think it's a clusterfuck. And with the time travel now, it's a clusterfuck even if you could understand the story the first time around, which I did. However, it's a fun clusterfuck. Besides, I find the characters compelling in their own way.

For what it's worth, Time Travel was introduced way back in KHII via Timeless River.

It's certainly easy to forget since you know, it didn't really go anyway in that game.

The character models in general seem very hit or miss.

Hopefully they can tune it up a little bit by the time it's released...they got plenty of time after all.
