Blake confirmed for Faunus. (Yep, Kitty!Blake now canon.) White Fang referred to as "we." Torchwick still hitting Dust shops. Two new characters--a monkey faunus boy, and a girl named Penny who makes Nora seem normal. "Black" trailer virtually confirmed to have happened in the past (Weiss refers to a trainload of Dust being stolen.) Ongoing war between Schnee Dust Company and White Fang likewise confirmed. Further hints about Weiss's unhappy childhood further confirmed. 98% of fandom now sitting around smugly and saying, "Yup. Called it."

For just a split second, when she was taking off her bow, I thought the surprise might just be that the ears weren't cat ears, because they seemed to be making a big deal of her taking the bow off off-screen. (Also, why are we talking about this unspoiled? Did everybody sign up for CR or for RT sponsorship over the two-week gap?)

What I wonder, now, is why was she hiding it? We know from Velvet that Fauna (Faunuses?) can attend Beacon openly, so is she just trying to cut and run from her past as a terrorist? Or afraid that if she's openly a Faunus that the things she did with the White Fang might be more likely to come out (and who knows, maybe there's either arrest warrants out for her or a Schnee bounty on her head?)?

Also, given how much time is left in the volume, I sense an impending cliffhanger.

I think we can all agree that the fact that Blake is a faunus isn't really a huge spoiler, considering about 95% of the fandom caught on and figured out she was after her bow twitched like crazy in episode 8. The show wasn't exactly very subtle about it.

Well this was a bit of a depressing episode and I believe technically that this was both a bit of a Blake episode and a bit of a Weiss episode.

Well this was an... interesting and tense episode. There was more background info tossed around, but that came as secondary to the character clash and exploration. And details about Weiss's past, and hints of Blake's.

As for why Blake hid the fact, I thought that was obvious. I mean, I doubt she wants to be whispered about behind her back, or picked on like that one girl Cardin was a dick to.

But jokes aside. He's intriguing, and I wonder what his future role will be. I just had a feeling he might be the kind to drag others (Blake) into bad ways not because he's "evil" or selfish above all, but just because he doesn't care about what he does. Or its consequences.

Alien girl, as I shall henceforth refer to her was.... erm, unique? Whooole different league from Nora, that one. Her weapon is probably something outrageously ridiculous.
