With the Nerve Gear, a virtual reality Helmet that stimulates the user’s five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds.
Welcome to Sword Art Online, the first Virtual Reality MMORPG! With the release of Akihiko Kayaba's new affordable NervGear, you can play Virtual Reality video games in the safety of your own home.
In Sword Art Online, you will get the opportunity to explore Aincrad, the floating city! High above the ground, Aincrad awaits you, with its one hundred floors. As a player, your role is to conquer these floors, defeating each floor boss hidden in their dungeon, and fighting your way up to the final boss on the one hundredth floor.
To aid you in this role, you will have access to a huge variety of weaponry. From the ordinary sword, to the exotic Chakram, if you can name it, it's in the game. However, just obtaining a weapon will not make you a master of it. But not to worry, Sword Art Online features the new feature «Sword Skills» that will allow any novice to fight like a pro. These «Sword Skills» assist player combat, allow them to use master level attacks.
In the game of Sword Art Online, fighting the multitude of monsters found in Aincrad is not the only thing to do. A selection of other activities await you, like sewing, smithing, trading, or even fishing!
As one of the first one thousand players, you'll have the first chance to explore the amazing floating tower of Aincrad. So feel free to do so. Hunt, fish, grind, raid, the world is yours to explore.

What do you mean by stat sheet?
Wait, hold on, now I have to pull up this stuff, too....
Courage: Your general bravery. You're in a world getting in armed combat with monsters that can actually kill you dead. Do you have any balls? Can you put your life on the line?
Intelligence: General smartness, learning rate, strategy.
Charisma: Social skills, leadership.
Diligence: Determination, how long you can keep killing the same monsters for XP and Col over and over and over again, how long until stress begins to affect you.
Reaction Speed: Your reflexes and stuff.
Yeah, this is character stats, not game stats. You get a total of 14 points that you can distribute over them. Minimum for each stat is 1, max is 5. You can split points for 2.5. Average for each stat is two.
Perks? I heard Perks.
Sheesh, jump straight to the interesting stuff, why don't you. Yeah, you'll be getting some perks as well.

So, how's this system work?
Well, there's an element of chance, represented by dice rolls. I'll be rolling the dice rolls for you to save time. They'll mostly be dice + applicable stats + circumstance [bonus/penalty], divided by half of the dice roll, multiplied by in game stats. If I find it applicable, I'll also roll spot checks, although I won't tell you when I do.
Although, if you really wanted to find out, and I suppose you could just go to invisible castle and search under your character's name.
You gain skills slots when you level up. Here's the progression.

Level 10: 4 slots
Level 20: 5 slots
Level 30: 6 slots
Level 40: 7 slots
Level 50: 8 slots
Level 60: 9 slots
