I don't even wish to stand beside him as I got 2 consecutive IRs at my work the very same month after I got Jeanne.

Hydreigon is a pseudo-legendary after all; I think it's been in the OU and Uber tiers since introduction.

Almost all dragons are "pseudo-legendary", they say

    Poor Altaria.

Part 36 - RESHIRAM; Final Battle VS N

    Reshiram; Final Battle VS N

I decided to use Burble and this happened early on in training. XP

That being said, I did raise him to level 73. It took both longer than I expected and shorter than I expected to train him to that point: longer because of number of days not playing, and shorter because it didn’t take me hours and hours to accomplish it.

I return to N’s Castle and return to moving forward, meeting another of the Shadow Triad who tells me that my battle with N will reveal both N’s status as a hero and the status of the world. Okay, at least this one didn’t accost me.

Immediately at the next floor, one of the three Shadow Triad members points out N’s room.
…inside, it’s like the first time I heard Die Lorelei - haunting and creepily “jingling”.
There’s a Rare Candy at the center of the half-pipe, I go ahead and use it on Burble to grow him to level 74.

I leave as soon as I do that, inspecting the other two rooms on this floor. I find a Full Restore and a few Plasma Grunts. One of them references Team Rocket and Team Galactic, commenting on their failures.
I guess Team Aqua and Team Magma aren’t known in Unova. Huh.

I reach the final floor and receive a greeting from Ghetsis, if you can really call it a greeting.
He monologues for the nth time about the goals he Team Plasma will attain now that N has Zekrom and defeated Alder.

I enter the throne room, which oddly has water.
Only a few steps along the path forward, N announces his wish to me from his throne.

Despite that, he is very disappointed that Reshiram hasn’t awoken.
He summons Zekrom. Are we Final Fantasy Summoners now?

The Deep Black Pokemon crashes through the back of the room like the KoolAid Man, before unleashing a blast of its blue electricity - vaporizes most of the water.

Reshiram awakens and responds in kind!

N translates Reshiram’s desire; I meet it in battle…before using the Master Ball to catch it. :B

Firetail is the only name I can think of suitable for Reshiram. XP

Near instantly, N challenges my team and I to a battle!
I have Firetail at the front of my party for this, but I know better than to trust the “Zekrom” I see before me, because I know for certain that N has a Zoroark.

Firetail Fusion Flares the opponent after being hit by a Dark Gem-boosted Night Daze, revealing its true form.

N uses a Full Restore on it; I have my Legendary Dragon repeat its last move.
Third turn in, and I use a Hyper Potion while N’s Illusionist misses with a second Nigh Daze.
I finish it off with a Dragon Pulse.

N’s next Pokemon is his Aerodactyl, which I have Burble battle. My Slowking avoids a Head Smash and attacks with Surf…getting a OHKO!

Zekrom is sent out in response to that, while I switch out Burble for Wingfold.
One Earthquake sends the Legendary Dragon’s HP to below half, while it uses Light Screen.
A second Earthquake knocks it out cleanly.
    Wingfold grows to level 76!

The next Pokemon on N’s roster is a Porygon-Z; I have Triss meet it in battle.
Sacred Sword does considerable damage, but not enough to knock it out - just enough to send its HP into the red.

The glitch Pokemon uses Tri-Attack, boosted by a Normal Gem - doing massive damage!

Oddly, N doesn’t use any healing item on Porygon-Z, so another Sacred Sword knocks it out.

His second to last team member is a Magmortar (May! ;A; ); Burble’s Quick Claw activates and his Surf does a decent a little over half damage.

But the Magmortar uses Thunderbolt, doing considerable damage to Burble and paralyzing him. The enemy’s Light Screen fades - explaining why Surf didn’t do as much.

Next turn, instead of finishing off Burble, the Magmortar sets up a Nasty Plot.
Burble isn’t paralyzed, so he can attack with another Surf-and knocks it out!

Last but not least on N’s team is his Slowbro. The irony hits me.
I debate a bit on who to send out, before deciding on Triss; her Giga Drain drops its HP down into the red.
It retaliates with Psychic, putting her on “equal footing”-!

Neither of us heal our Pokemon, meaning the battle is decided by Triss’ speed-!
Triss grows to level 75, too!~

The final battle against N is a victory!

N finds the answer he was looking for to complete his “equation”. I honestly can say I’m glad he has finally opened his eyes.

    Part 37 - DEN-NIS DEN-NIS, VS Ghetsis; FINALE!

    DEN-NIS DEN-NIS, VS Ghetsis

But that isn’t the end to this tale. Ghetsis appears and immediately rebukes him for the losing against me, and continues with a tirade!

…Ghetsis, you’re pissing me off with the insults you’re slinging at N- royally pissing me off.

Cheren and Alder show up. Amazingly, it’s Rival #2’s prompting that gets Ghetsis to reveal the truth of all his plotting, schemes, and skullduggery.

Alder’s response is as swift as Speed Deoxys.

Ghetsis announces that he doesn’t consider me a threat in: any way, shape, or form, and rejoices at the impending despair I will experience.

The final battle begins, accompanied by epic music and chanting, with my Reshiram against Ghetsis’ Drapion.
Firetail unleashes Fusion Flare after getting hit by a critical Cross Poison.

    I really, really wish they didn’t force me to have Firetail at the front. ^^;
A Hyper Potion later, Firetail is hit by a Night Slash and Toxic Spikes before repeating his last attack and knocking the centaur-like ogre scorpion out.

    …he sends out his Hydreigon next. I’m rather terrified right now, for my whole team. This thing is a true monster. ;A;
I have Nyctea join the battle right away, and hope I am not making a horrible mistake.

Arceus bless her, she gets a critical Ice Beam and OHKO’s the star member of Ghetsis’ team-! Ho-ly crap. XD

The third member of his team is sent out to the field: Eelektross.
With the Toxic Spikes active, this is a perfect chance for Gingivere’s Guts to be put to use.~
    Or so I think. XP

Night Slash does over half of the eel’s HP; Gingivere is hit by Flamethrower in return and is hurt by Toxic, dropping him to below half his max HP.

That doesn’t quite matter; because the next turn he kills the lamprey-eel-thing. XP
    Gingivere grows to level 75.~

Next up is Ghetsis’ Dusknoir, which doesn’t even get a chance to attack. Gingivere Night Slashes it once and it goes down - so much for the “Tank” Ghost type.

Second to last on his team is Gyarados; I debate a while as to which Pokemon to send out to battle it - Gingivere certainly isn’t in any condition to do so.

I decide to go ahead and send out Firetail and use a Full Restore on Gingivere.
Except…Firetail is killed by an Earthquake!? What the heck I didn’t even know Gyarados could learn that move.
    …then again, I wasn’t really trying to protect or save Firetail, and I haven’t ever actually used a Gyarados, so…um, yeah. ^^;

    His Gyarados has Moxie. There is a strong possibility…that I am so screwed. ;A;

    Or not. =P
I send out Wingfold, before switching to Nyctea and KO’ing it with Shadow Ball.

Finally, the evil mastermind behind Team Plasma sends out the “masterpiece”: Genesect.
I switch to Nyctea, who disables its Bug Buzz, then back to Gingivere.
My Luxray is hit by Ice Beam and holds on; Fire Fang does massive damage - only for the Genesect to reveal it holding a Focus Sash.

Ghetsis and I both use Full Retore on our battling Pokemon.
    I have Gingivere use Thunder Fang, only for him to get hit by the returning Bug Buzz-! ;A;

I switch Gingivere out for Burble.

    He is able to let off an Aura Sphere before getting KO’d. ;~;
(I didn’t manage to screen-cap this part as much as I’d like.)

Triss joins the battle, taking an Ice Beam, and finishes the Genesect off once and for all with Sacred Sword!
    WE HAVE WON-! Somehow, some way, we defeated Ghetsis-! ;w;

Not only is he in extreme disbelief spawned from megalomania, but Ghetsis still has horrible, miserable things to say about N.
After a bit of dialogue between N and Alder, the Champion and Rival #2 drag Ghetsis off to the authorities.

N wants to speak with me about something, so I follow as he describes his shock when we first met: how my Pokemon said they liked me.

He has some very serious thoughts to share with me; I can only listen.
He lets Zekrom out of its Pokeball…and wishes me farewell-!?

    END CREDITS; Suddenly Zekrom

N riding Zekrom off into the horizon. MANLY PICNIC

I wake up back in my room; skipping the dialogue between my mom, a disguised Agent Looker, and myself, and then another one between my friends-rivals and Cedric Juniper - I go to the nearest PC. XP
Though, Cedric does upgrade my Pokedex to National Mode, which is nice.
-Note: I’ve seen 604 Pokemon and caught and/or evolved 55.

I have Wingfold Fly us to Accumula Town.

The only thing left to do “right now” is say farewell to Firetail…

    …and Burble. ;~;
Between the two, Burble is the one that I actually feel saddened over losing.

Firetail being at the front of the party, on the other hand, meant that I couldn’t have Wingfold knock the Drapion out as cleanly as I wanted to do…and Toxic Spikes caused a lot of the issues that we faced against Ghetsis.

    And so it ends? Maybe.
Now I guess it's time for me to decide if I want to put in the effort to continue with the Post-Game stuff - which includes rematches with all Gym Leaders - or to end it off here.
It mostly depends on if people would like to see me FLAIL FLAIL FLAIL some more - which includes not being allow to have a Water or Fire type, apparently. XP

Yes, yes she did. I won't apologize for that. =P
Though if I do continue with the post-game, it's likely that my whole team could die within just a few minutes against a single trainer, especially Gym Leader rematches.

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 1

    Lyco’s Storm Silver Nuzlocke Adventure!
    Littlefoot

I saw Lugia in my dreams; I guess as a Pokemon Trainer wannabe, that’s pretty normal. Sleeping, for me? That’s also pretty normal. Dreaming of a Psychic/Flying type Legendary Pokemon under the sea? I don’t think that’s normal.

Having that dream include Professor Samuel Oak addressing me and saying weird things about “hacks” and “documentations”, I don’t think that’s normal.

Oh Arceus, I slept on the rug again! I thought I stopped doing that years ago.
And since when did I have a tree in my room? No, seriously, since when?

I head down stairs, and find Mom is waiting for me with my stuff. You had better not have put in extra socks and underwear, Mom, that’s just embarrassing and unnecessary. I’m about to go on a journey across two regions, the least you could do is have faith that I’ll wear clean clothing and do my own laundry. Sheesh.

Thank you! And yes, Mom, I know about the migrations from Hoenn and Sinnoh. I went to Trainer’s School for a while, remember? You’re not that old.

And wow, I get Running Shoes and my Bike already!? Awesome!

And first things first for this Nuzlocke Challenge, is looking at my Trainer ID number!
Unlike in Blaze Black where I chose my Starter, this time I’m going by the common “let your ID number decide”. The last digit makes it so you either pick the Grass type for 1-3, Fire for 4-6, and Water for 7-9.

So it looks like I’ll be picking the Grass-type Starter this time!
Which could be bad, I know. XP

I leave my house to see my friend Lyra and her Marill are playing hide-and-seek (I think? I never quite know what game they’re playing sometimes.).

There’s a stranger with red hair looking through Professor Elm’s lab window.
Dude, that’s really conspicuous. You should probably at least try to hide yourself. Maybe learn something from Ninja Boys? You never know when that might come in handy.

…and of course your shove me away rudely. What a freaking jerk.

Better not keep Elm waiting, don’t want to be late *and* rude. Thankfully, he was waiting patiently.
During his commentary about Pokemon Trainers walking with their Pokemon instead of using Pokeballs, he’s interrupted by an email from Mr. Pokemon (what a nickname) saying he’s got an egg he wants the Prof. to see.

The best part about this is getting a Pokemon! None of the Rattatas or Sentrets from Trainer School, either! Yay!~

The choices are Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. But because of my ID, I have to choose Chikorita. I haven’t used one in a long while…man, this could be really bad.
But I must put my trust into the heart of my cards balls Pokemon!

Now I need a nickname for him. “Littlefoot” works. Man, I liked Land Before Time.

Prof. Elm gives me directions to Mr. Pokemon’s house, which was nice of him.

But first, I want to take a look at Littlefoot’s stats.
He’s got a Sassy Nature, that’ll be fun. A sarcastic bro is pretty neat. He’s also a “very finicky” characteristic, huh? I can relate to that.

Sassy means his Speed is lowered and his Special Defense is raised, which is rather good for a Chikorita - it means he’ll be able to wall a little better already, with 12 defenses all around!
    I wish he didn’t have 19 HP, though. ^^;

And that’s all for Part 1 of this adventure!
See you all next time when the adventure really begins!

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 2

    Tan, Sprite, and Terk

Not even out the door yet and one of Elm’s aides gives me some Potions. What a nice guy you are, thanks! Right out the door, Lyra is waiting to say hi and bye with her ever-present Marill. No, Lyra, Littlefoot isn’t a Pokemon, he’s a Digimon. :V

Her suggestion is to go say bye to my Mom. Sure, Wynaut. Mom has my Pokegear all ready to go. And, of course, she has to explain to me how to use the phone feature on it. Mom, while I don’t like using the phone all that often, I’m not a complete incompetent or Luddite when it comes to technology.

I’m almost out of Newbark, when Prof. Elm stops me and gives me his phone number. That definitely is a good idea, since I’m kind of being your errand boy at the moment.

Route 29 is finally underfoot, but here’s the thing: I don’t have any Pokeballs!
Okay, I have one, but that’s for Littlefoot, smart alecks. That means that the Nuzlocke rules have not started - yet.

What is the first battle of the game? Littlefoot vs a Wurmple, it turns out, and Littlefoot’s first Tackle is a critical.
    That’s rather awesome.

What is Littlefoot’s second battle against? A Pidgey that knows Gust. Thank Arceus for Littlefoot’s Special Defense. He grows to level 6, and got Razor Leaf!~
I grab the Potion in the northeast, and move back on track.

Littlefoot likes getting Critical Hits, it seems. A Sentret and Rattata later, he grows to level 7! There’s no point in going north to Route 46, so I keep on heading west - though I stop to heal Littlefoot with a Potion.

We get to Cherrygrove City easily, as to be expected, and get a free tour by a nice, old guy. He even gives me the Old Rod! I go to the Pokemon Center so that Nurse Joy can heal Littlefoot, then make my way over to Rotue 30’s entrance. “Guide Gent” gives me the Map Card. This guy is cool, let me tell you.

Finally, we are on Route 30. Littlefoot battles a Harden-happy Kakuna, and I find a Potion. In the little house up the stairs, there’s a middle aged man who informs me of Apricorns and their use in old Pokeball crafting, then gives me the Apricorn Box. Man, are people nice here or what?
I grab the Green Apricorn just outside his house and move on north. I find an Antidote on the ground and grab it. Just to the left of Mr. Pokemon’s house I grab a Pink Apricorn.

There’s a blonde lady in front of the door, for some reason. She introduces herself as an acquaintance of Mr. Pokemon; Cynthia is her name and Sinnoh is her home region.
She tells me the tale of a legendary Trainer who traveled all across Kanto and Johto, capturing all Pokemon great and small.

Then she gives me an Eevee.
Only Professor Elm has matched this level of awesomeness. Thank you so very, very much.
Now what to name the Eevee? Hm…the first thing that pops into my head is “Legendary” or “Tan” - short for “tanuki”, however corny or cheesy that sounds. XP
I think I’ll go with Tan’.

Cynthia departs, and I check out Tan’s stats.
His Calm Nature lowers his Attack and boosts Special Defense, which is good for an Vaporeon or Umbreon, but with his Attack and Special Attack equal, Umbreon looks to be the best option for Tan’.
Having the Run Away Ability is a little bit disappointing, but not too bad at all.

He is my Pokemon for Route 30.
I switch Tan’ to the front of my team, and step through the door.

Mr. Pokemon is glad to see me and gets straight to the point of giving me the “Mystery Egg”, and informing me that it is highly unlikely to find this Egg in Johto.

The other man, who was seated or standing while Mr. Pokemon addressed me, introduces himself, too. Professor Oak? Um…how am I supposed to react to that? Eh, not going to get all hyperventilating like a fanboy, but it is rather neat to meet him in person.

Yet another awesome gift from someone: The Pokedex!
Exchanging numbers with me so we can keep in contact, Prof. Oak leaves for his radio show.

Not even two steps out the door and Prof. Elm calls me in a complete panic, wanting me back in Newbark ASAP.

I go into the tall grass to train up Tan’ to level 7, which only takes a while because of Harden-happy Metapod and Kakuna.

The redhead that was lurking around Prof. Elm’s lab blocks my path back to Newbark, and shows even more evidence of being an absolute jerk. He taunts and belittles me, and wants a battle.
Sure, Wynaut, “passerby boy”. You and your Cyndaquil are going down.

Littlefoot, finish his squinty fire mouse off. My little dinosaur does, and grows to level 8.

Even in defeat he’s an arrogant snob, pushing me aside and dropping his ID and getting mad at me for wanting to know his name.
I head on to Route 29 and grab the Green Apricorn, before rushing over to Newbark.

This guy is the worst police officer ever. Where is Officer Jenny? Instead of Jenny, Lyra storms in and defends us from the incompetent policeman. I let the officer know that the red-headed boy’s name is Silver; it’s the least I can do to see some justice done for the sake of Prof. Elm.

That drama out of the way, I can finally give Prof. Elm the Mystery Egg. After commenting that Mr. Pokemon has an extreme interest in Pokemon Eggs, Elm is astonished at Prof. Oak giving me a Pokedex.
I know, right? I thought he was going to get on my case about Nuzlockes.

He recommends that I go across the Johto region and challenge the Pokemon Gyms, which I have nothing against, but lets me know that I should see my Mom first. A good guy, Prof. Elm is.

She decides that she can help me by saving up a percent of the money I win in battles. She’s a smart lady, my Mom.

[Insert Pokeball Usage Tutorial from Lyra Here]
Lyra gives me some Pokeballs - finally, and wow, she gives me 15. Thank you, Lyra.

And my first catchable encounter is a…Hoppip…with Synthesis. Well isn’t that just grand? That’s one Pokeball used and wasted, but a second one - after many uses of Synthesis and Tackle - catches her.
    I’m naming her Sprite.

    Now let’s see her stats.
She has a Bashful Nature and is “impetuous and silly”; I can tell. Sadly she only has Synthesis and Splash for now.

Now it is time to train her and move on to Route 46 for my second potential catch.

And my encounter for Route 46 is a…Geodudette. It only takes one Pokeball to catch her.
Now what should I name her? How about Terk, because Tarzan? XP

Of course, now is the time to see her stats. Sassy and somewhat vain? Yep, that would be Terk. And it seems that this game wants me to have Specially Defensive Pokemon, haha. XP

I think that’s all for now. See you all next time!~

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 3

    Amara and Slipstream

I trained up Terk to level 7 and Sprite to level 6, but other than that, here we are back on Route 30, ready to trek northward!
Oh snap, it’s Youngster Joey and his Tope Percentage Rattata! It’s at level 7, so I made a good choice to train. And [i]wow[i] those Quick Attacks hurt more than I thought they would. Boy, aren’t I smart? I switch out Tan for Terk to let her finish it off.
    Yeah, that nearly happened. Ugh.

Aroma Lady Julia is just up the steps from Joey, and she leads with a Budew. Tan not only has trouble with the Budew, but also with the Lady’s Seedot. North of Julia, Idol Carly (wow, haha) wants to battle me with her team of a Jigglypuff, Clefairy, and Skitty.
Tan gets infatuated with the Clefairy, so I switched Terk in to let her finished it off.

Tan had had enough and critically hit the Skitty for a OHKO. Right after Carly - at which point my entire team is at level 9 - and up the steps, we’ve made it to Route 31, which means it’s time for me to catch something again!
    Suddenly evening. XP

I don’t run into anything in the first patch of grass, but hey, that allows me to go to Dark Cave (Violet) first, which is rather neat. I know that there’s a wide variety of Pokemon to catch, too.~

And my encounter for Dark Cave (Violet) is a Slugma, which I am content with, since I was needing a Fire-type. I catch her after Tan Bites it twice, but what should I name her? Amara, because X-Men, apparently.

A Rash Nature boosts Special Attack and lowers Special Defense, which is not all that great, to be honest. Ember is very nice, though. XP
I rush back to Cherrygrove to heal my team, before returning to Route 31.

Now is the time to catch something on Route 31. XP
I find a Buisel, which completes the Water-Fire-Grass circle for my team. Splipstream shall be his name.

I believe that Lax Nature is one of the “neutral” ones, which is preferable to a poor Nature. Slip’s stats aren’t too bad for his level, either. I don’t mind having a Buizel on the team, not at all. They’re glass cannons, but not nearly as bad as Carvanha.

Time for me to do a bit of training, it seems.

…yes, these sorts of things happened. Moving on from that, though, it’s time to get back on track. Before battling the Bug Catcher, though, I collect the Pokeball and Black Apricorn that are left to Route 31.
    Suddenly night! XP

Bug Catcher Wade starts things off with a Spinarak, followed by a Surskit, Ledyba, and Nincada. Amara burned the Spinarak with Flame Body, and the Ledyba with Ember, growing to level 10, too. Slipstream finishes off the Nincada, winning us the battle. I’d say that’s good work for both of them.

With that battle done, I can finally move on to Violet City, though not before Lyra gifts us with the VS Recorder.

I believe I’ll save exploring Violet City for next time, though. See you then!~

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 4

Donatello, Core, and TSO; Sprout Tower

So I wake up from where I left off in Violet City, the Pokemon Center, and decide to talk to the Scientist guy, because sometimes they are Prof. Aides. Turns out that this nice chap gives me an Experience Share! Man, is Johto full of nice people or what?

There’s also a Juggler in front of the PC’s map who gives me a quiz. But what is the prize? Um…haha, wow, it’s any one Kanto Starter. I think the best choice is Squirtle, at least since I chose Chikorita? I have to put deposit one Pokemon, so I let Sprite take a rest.

I’ll nickname him Donatello. Now what are his stats? He’s already at level 10, which is great. Bashful Nature means that none of his stats are lowered or raised. Loves to eat - well, I think I can deal with that.
His defenses are good and his attack isn’t too far behind either. Looks like I have my encounter for Violet City! ^^

I decide to deposit Slipstream, too, since I have Donatello now - who can take hits much better. Now off to explore Violet City!

Or not? Besides the Sprout Tower and Gym, it seems there’s just the Trainer School. In the house that usually has a guy wanting a Bellsprout for an Onix, there’s a Hiker wanting an Onix for a Ryhorn…I think.

There’s actually not much to do around town - besides speaking to the teacher for the Trainer School, who has a French accent and likes to dance…or spin. I don’t know what that’s about. “Want to be a winner is you?” - I’m dying.
Um, yeah, so I guess there really wasn’t anything to see there? Oh well.

There is Route 32, though, where I can catch another new Pokemon and train. But the first of those I need to pay attention to is catching a Pokemon. I know that there are Electric and Poison types here, at the very least.

My encounter winds up being a Magnemite, level 12; that’s pretty good…now the question is “can I actually catch it with my team being two to three levels lower than that?” It turns out the answer is “yes”.
I think I’ll name it “Core”.

I run back to the Pokemon Center to heal, and check on Core’s stats, which isn’t all that great, but not too bad. It having a Careful Nature means lower Special Attack and raised Special Defense - could be worse, but not preferred.
Oh well, we can live with it! Welcome to the team, Core.

I could train my team, but I think I want to go ahead and get through the Sprout Tower. The first trainer I have to battle is Sage Nico, who leads his team with the Pokemon that has the lowest base stats in the game: Sunkern. It’s at level 8, so I should be fine throughout the tower. Tan takes it down easily.
Following that is a Bellsprout, whose defeat grows Tan to level 10! He has another Bellsprout that Littlefoot tackles until it is KO’d. Nico’s last Pokemon is a Ralts, who actually gives Terk some trouble; not for long, but still a little bit.

I grab the Paralyze Heal down the ladder behind Nico, and encounter Sage Chow going left. He leads with at Bellsprout, while I have Amara in front - type advantage is mine. Though I don’t want to be too arrogant - arrogance helps no one in a Nuzlocke. Chow’s next Pokemon is a Poliwag, so I have Littlefoot take care of it.
The Poliwag puts him to sleep twice, which is entirely annoying, but Bubble only does 1 damage, so it wasn’t an issue. Defeating it grows Littlefoot to level 11. Chow’s last Pokemon is an Exeggcute; Tan KO’s it easily.

Back up to the second floor, I collect the X Accuracy north of the stairs. My next battle is against Sage Edmund, whose first Pokemon is a level 10 Mareep; I have to switch out Donatello for Terk. He follows the electric sheep with an Oddish that nearly KO’s Amara with two Acids. Lastly is Edmund’s Hypnosis-happy Hoothoot, but Core deals with it efficiently.
Terk grows to level 11 and learns Rock Throw!~

We climb up the stairs to reach the third and final floor in Sprout Tower.
And my encounter for Sprout Tower turns out to be a Chatot! Wow, I didn’t expect to take so long to actually encounter something, but hey this isn’t too bad. He isn’t as difficult to catch as I thought he’d be, either, which is very nice.
I think I’ll name him TSO, after the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. XP

The first of the last handful of battles here is against Sage Jin, whose only Pokemon is a level 12 Bellsprout. Amara takes care of it with ease. Tan and Amara both grow to level 11, with Amara learning Rock Throw!~ I rush back to the Pokemon Center, since two of my team are asleep. It also gives me an opportunity to see TSO’s stats.
TSO has a Lonely Nature, lowering his attack and raising his defense; that’s not too bad for a Chatot, I don’t think. Defense is important, but Chatot focus more on attacking quickly anyway, and his special attack is very high already.

Back to Sprout Tower and its third floor, Donatello encounters a Meditite that he knocks out to grow to level 11.

    The next Sage up to battle goes by the name Neal and has a level 11 Psyduck as the leader of his team. The chronic headache Pokemon is easy for Littlefoot to KO, since he got a critical hit against the yellow duck. Secondly is Neal’s Natu…which has Air Cutter!? It nearly KO’s Tan! ;A;
Amara takes care of his final Pokemon, a Bulbasaur.

I take the time to heal up Tan; man, that was scary.

Sage Troy is the last “regular” Trainer here, and he starts off the battle with an Abra, while I have Terk at the front of my team; a single Rock Throw KO’s the Psychic type, and the experience from it grows her to level 12. Next up on Troy’s roster is an Exeggcute, followed by a Hypnosis-happy Hoothoot packing Air Cutter who gives Donatello trouble, so I switch him out for Core.
Last up on his team is a Hoppip that poisons Tan, so I have Tamara KO it.

Not even a second after that battle, Mom calls to let me know she bought me something. I hope it’s something useful; it turns out to be a Super Potion, so yeah, it is useful!
Before I tackle the final Sage of the tower, I rush back to the PC to heal up.

And of course Silver the Jerk is around, making life miserable for everyone around him. The Elder tries to give him advice, but of course the red-head rejects it outright, since he defeated the Elder already - “words of the weak and defeated” hold no value and all that jazz. He uses an Escape Rope to leave.

I grab the Escape Rope on the right before battling the Elder, but not before running into a wild Starly. I decide to give Littlefoot the Experience Share I had received.

Elder Li is the final battle here in Sprout Tower, leading off with a level 12 Bellsprout. By defeating it, Littlefoot grows to level 12 and learns Synthesis himself; that’s very nice! Next up on the Elder’s team is a Chingling (rather appropriate) that Tan bites thrice to defeat. Second to last is his Hoothoot, which is level 14! Terk knocks it out with twin Rock Throws.
Lastly, Elder Li sends out his Cherubi, which gives Amara a little bit of trouble with its Magical Leaf. Through Experience Share, Littlefoot grows to level 13 from that battle, too!

The reward for winning against Elder Li, you ask? Why it’s another quiz of course. XP
But, no, really; the answer to this question is tied between Vaporeon and Umbreon, and with Tan’s stats, the answer is Umbreon.~
Not only does he give me the “Serenade Orb”, but we also receive the TM for Flash, like what would normally happen! Elder Li is another cool guy. ^^

I use the Escape Rope to leave Sprout Tower.

Before I finish this part off, I want to go ahead and use the Serenade Orb on Tan.~

Now let’s see how his stats are now, hm?
Well, I’d say that choosing Umbreon was a good choice for him! I do hope that it was the best choice, at least, even with the weakness to Bug type attacks it brings.

That’s all for now! Next time on this Storm Silver Nuzlocke Adventure, I’ll be training my team up to level 13-14 and tackling the Violet City Gym! See you all then.~

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 5

    VS Falkner!; The Egg

Bug Catcher Wade called and let me know he had a berry for me, which turns out to be one of my favorite kinds: Leppa! With that out of the way, it’s time for me to train my team up to at least levels 13 or14.
    And of course it wouldn’t be a training session for one of my Fire or Water types without something like this happening. Ugh. At least she got to level 13. You really need to step up the game, Amara. ;~;
…this isn’t really getting me anywhere, though, and I’d like to move on. Level 12’s and 13’s are too bad for the Gym, if I remember correctly.

Let me just say this again: I don’t like heights - at all. Freaking Falkner, freaking Skyla; at least Winona doesn’t have a height-related “puzzle”! Another reason I like her best. XP

The first Gym Trainer battle is now, against Bird Keeper Abe! He leads things off with a Spearow, while I have Core out front. The Spearow uses Pursuit, which does very little, and Core responds with a Thundershock for a OHKO. Next on Abe’s roster is a Pidgey, prompting me to switch to Terk. Third on Abe’s team, and last, is his Doduo; Core has no problem dealing with it, either.
    Core grows to level 13!

The second and last Gym Trainer is Bird Keeper Rod. He has four Pokemon, the first of which is a Taillow. Terk Rock Throws for a OHKO, growing to level 13 - as does Donatello, who I gave the Experience Share. He also gets to learn Water Gun in place of Bubble.
Wingull is Rod’s next Pokemon; Core takes care of it easily. Third to last, I have Tan Bite his Natu for a third OHKO in a row. Last on Rod’s team is a Zubat; it Donatello three Water Guns to take it down, with little damage to himself.

Time for me to heal up before facing off against Falkner!
Here’s my current battling team; I gave Littlefoot the Experience Share, since he won’t be able to do much against Falkner’s team.

While he says that Flying types being weak to Electric types is an insult, I’m leading with Core; the irony isn’t lost on my, though unintentional. Core just has more experience needed to level up than the other two Pokemon with super-effective moves (Terk and Amara). Putting that aside…Now is the time to face off against Falkner!
    He has a full team.

His lead Pokemon is a level 12 Doduo that Quick Attacks Core; it doesn’t do much and allows Core to OHKO the twin-headed ostrich. Second on Falkner’s flock is his Pidgeotto, the real contender - as far as I know - on his side, at level 15!
I leave Core out to battle it…and find out the hard way that it has Mud Slap! I was not expecting that, though I should have been prepared for it. Even with the accuracy drop, Core is able to hit with Thundershock - but will it be enough!?
The answer to that is “no”.

I switch out for Terk, which may not be the best of ideas, but still has merit. Her Rock Throw does enough to send the Pidgeotto into red - but it’s holding an Oran Berry, so Falkner won’t use a Potion. A second Rock Throw, at risk of Terk having only 6 HP left, finishes it off!

His star Pokemon being out of the way doesn’t make Falkner any less of a threat to my team, though. Through Experience Share, Littlefoot reaches level 14.
Falkner’s third Pokemon is a Murkrow; I go ahead and switch Terk out for Amara and hope she can hold her own. I test the “waters” by having her use Rock Throw, but she takes too much damage, so I switch her out for Core, who can take the hits…
    Or so I think…well, I’m glad for Core’s defenses.

    Fourth up is a Swablu. With both Terk and Core in bad shape, I return Amara to the field and hope for the best by using a Potion. Amara’s Flame Body burns the Swablu, which is great. I have to use another Potion after sending its HP down to the red through combined Rock Throw and burn. No doubt that Falkner will do the same…or not. ^^;
What is worse is that the Swablu can use Mirror Move; thank Arceus for the burn, which defeats it.

Falkner’s next to last Pokemon is a Chatot; I decide it is best to send out my “wall”, Tan, and use the chance to heal up Terk and Core. One Potion for Core, while Tan is hit by Uproar…which doesn’t do much, thankfully! I knew Umbreon was a good choi-

…word of advice, if you’re playing a Nuzlocke, don’t cheer, celebrate, or feel confident. :/

    I switch Tan out for Core, who can take an Uproar better…or so I think. ^^;
Eventually Core can knock it out with two Thundershocks. Note to self: beware Chatot with STAB moves. Littlefoot grows to level 15, and could learn Grass Whistle, but the accuracy is horrible so I cancel it.

Last but not least on Falkner’s team is his Farfetch’d. I have Terk return to the field to battle it, and cross my fingers that this won’t end badly for my Geodudette. With three Rock Throws, Terk wins us the Badge!

    Not only do we get the Zephyr Badge, but Falkner also gifts me TM51: Roost…which I never saw him use. I’m thankful for that, but still. ^^;

Before I can head to the Pokemon Center to heal up my battered and worn Pokemon, I get a call from Prof. Elm letting me know to go to the PokeMart to receive the Egg that he wants me to carry. That’s fine by me. I drop off Donatello to go pick it up from Elm’s aide - or assistant. Either one works. XP
On my way out, I’m met by a mysterious lady in a kimono who wants me to cherish the Egg. I cherish all my Pokemon, even when they annoy me or need to have better defenses (Amara), so that’s not a problem either. She walks off after a twirl.

Not even seconds later, Falkner shows up and registers his number in my Pokegear. Sure, Wynaut, dood. He wishes me luck on my other Gym battles - which is rather nice, then walks off.

I run back to the Pokemon Center to drop off the Egg and get back Donatello.
That’s all for now; see you all in the next part when I head down to Route 32 and possibly see the Ruins of Alph!

Storm Silver Nuzlocke - Part 6

    To Azalea!; Stealth and Fenix

First off is biking west of Violet City to receive HM06 Rock Smash from this guy. Not only that, the guy that was previously blocking the path to the rest of Route 32 gives me the Miracle Seed. That is especially helpful for Littlefoot. South of him and doing a u-turn, we find a hidden Super Potion and then move to talk to the guy just before the ledge, who gives me the TM for Roar.
It’s not all that useful, but it might come in handy eventually? XP

Back on track, there are two trainers blocking the path; I could battle them at the same time, but it’s more wise to battle them one-on-one.
Ruin Maniac Gordon battles against me with a level 14 Sandshrew that Donatello knocks out, growing to level 14 and Tan to level 13. Gordon’s second Pokemon is an Onix, also level 14, that gives Donatello a little bit of trouble.
Parasol Lady Joan also has two Pokemon, the lead of which is a level 14 Mareep that Tan takes down, followed by a Drifloon. I have Core take care of the ghostly balloon; my Magnemite grows to level 14 and learns Sonicboom in place of Tackle.

Amara grows to level 14 against a wild Mareep.

Our next battle on Route 32 is against Picknicker Liz, who has a Nidoran(f); Tan battling it was probably not the best choice, since she has Double Kick, but his defenses hold even against a critical hit. Tan grows to level 14; he gets poisoned finishing it off, though.
Next up is Liz’s Ponyta; I let Terk fight it and she nearly gets to level 15 already!

    Liz gives me her number.~
Time for me to head back to Violet City - and to buy some Potions and status healing items.
After that, I have Terk battle a wild Mareep to level up to 15, replacing Rock Polish with Magnitude.

South of Liz, not taking the right path over the water, I battle against Camper Roland. Amara continues to have problems with any and all attacks; get it together, girl! I don’t want to lose you. Roland has a Nidoran(m), Diglett (Donatello grows to level 15), and Pikachu.

Doing another u-turn, Tan and I find a Great Ball, and south of Roland there is the TM for Bullet Seed! In the trees south and before the Pokemon Center, I meet Frieda of Friday who gifts me with Poison Barb. Not only that, the Fisherman in the Pokemon Center gifts me the TM for Water Pulse! Johto people are so generous and nice.

Now that those gifts are out of the way and my team is healed up, it’s time to take on the fishermen on the bridge. Fisherman Ralph has a Goldeen and Qwilfish that Core takes down for a level up.
Second on the bridge is Fisherman Henry, with a Poliwag that knows Mud Shot. Thankfully Core gets a critical hit on it. His next two Pokemon are a Remoraid with Aurora Beam and a Goldeen; Littlefoot knocks them both out, but at the cost of taking a decent bit of damage.

The price is decent enough to pay, as Littlefoot grows to level 16! That means he evolves into a Bayleef!~ I also have him learn Nature Power in place of Poison Powder.

I run to the Pokemon Center and heal my team before checking out his new stats.
Fisherman Justin is the last trainer on the bridge; he has three Magikarp and a Feebas. Before I battle the last trainer on the route, I make sure to grab the item to the far south: a Soothe Bell.
Ace Trainer Peter is the final trainer on the route and leads his team with a Staravia, followed by an Elekid, and battling the Elekid levels up Amara to 15 and Terk to 16. Next on the Ace Trainer’s team is an Oddish that Amara KO’s with twin Embers. Peter finishes things off with a Nidorino, but Terk has no trouble dispatching it.

I guess he was supposed to be sort of a “mid-boss”?

I heal my team up back at the Pokemon Center, before heading into Union Cave, where I can possibly catch another Pokemon. But before I do, I use a Repel and head north to the stairs, being careful to avoid the Fire breather, so that I can get the items there - including the TM for Rock Tomb! It’s not as good as Rock Throw, but it’s always nice to have the option for a different Pokemon.
The aforementioned Fire-breather goes by the name Ray and has one Pokemon: a Vulpix - one with Will-o-wisp, I might add.

Still not running into anything, we continue through the cave, battling trainers as we go. Hiker Daniel has a level 16 Onix that Donatello takes care of, like he did the Vulpix. Just after him, Hiker Russel has two Pokemon, both at level 14: a Geodude and a Nosepass. Donatello and Littlefoot defeat them with relative ease.

Donatello grows to level 16 from battling the first Geodude, which means learning Bite and Aqua Jet- and an evolution!~
The boost to his stats are rather good, too.

My encounter for Union Cave is a Zubat. I can live with that; Crobat is a great Pokemon and catching one now means the Evolution Clause kicks in on ever other cave. Now let’s see about not killing it, alright, Core? Thank Arceus you have Sonicboom. As for a name…I think “Stealth” is decent enough.

Fire-breather Bill is up next to battle; he has a Koffing, Magby, and a Charmander - all at level 14. After Bill, Pokemaniac Larry is our next opponent, with a Slowpoke and a Cubone; Tan and Donatello wipe them out. Not a moment after that battle ends, Mom calls to let me know about another item she bought.

All that’s left in Union Cave, for now, is the Awakening near the southern entrance/exit.

We are now on rainy Route 33!~ Just southeast I collect the Pink and Black Apricorns. The one trainer battle on the route is against Hiker Anthony; he has two Pokemon at level 16: a Geodude and a Machop. We get another call from Mom about an item she bought.

A few steps into Azalea Town and I find an old man talking with a Team Rocket Grunt? That’s…interesting, for lack of better word. The Grunt shoves the old man back, prompting him to run off and the Grunt to take his post in front of the well.
I run off to the Pokemon Center to heal and find that I receive another TM from a person by the counter; this time the TM is for Shock Wave! That’s rather entirely awesome. That’s a definite upgrade from Thundershock, so have at it, Core!

Before I do anything else, I suppose I should check on Stealth’s stats. A Docile nature is neutral, and the stats look rather good, too! His moveset is what I’d expect of his level.

As it turns out, there is also a “Quiz Master” in front of the map in this Pokemon Center. I have to deposit a Pokemon, so I deposit Amara. This time, the choice is Fire-type, meaning it’s time for me to get a Torchic. What do I nickname here, though? The answer to that is “Fenix”.

Her Jolly nature raises speed while lowering special attack, but at the moment her attack stats are equal, so that’s not much of a problem. Being at level 15 is really nice, I’d have to say. If anything, Torchic is a better choice for a Fire type than Slugma.
    Sorry, Amara. XP

Well, my team and I have done quite a bit this time, so I think it’s time that I end this off.
    See you all next time!~

Well crap. Do you know or remember what level it is? I'm trying to not ask or look up moves. I nearly got half my team wrecked by Falkner because I wasn't a high enough level and I didn't want to look it up. XP
    Also, yay, comment! :'3c

I believe it was 21-22, but the main problem is one move in its move set that easily paves the way for a total party kill I've experienced way too many times.

People whom I've seen gotten past it generally grinded to 30 to be safe, it's that bad.

Let me guess: his entire team has U-Turn? If you add that up with Drayano's boost of base stats to "weaker" Pokemon...It's going to be a freaking nightmare, I'm guessing.
    Ugh.
