So I wake up from where I left off in Violet City, the Pokemon Center, and decide to talk to the Scientist guy, because sometimes they are Prof. Aides. Turns out that this nice chap gives me an Experience Share! Man, is Johto full of nice people or what?

There’s also a Juggler in front of the PC’s map who gives me a quiz. But what is the prize? Um…haha, wow, it’s any one Kanto Starter. I think the best choice is Squirtle, at least since I chose Chikorita? I have to put deposit one Pokemon, so I let Sprite take a rest.

I’ll nickname him Donatello. Now what are his stats? He’s already at level 10, which is great. Bashful Nature means that none of his stats are lowered or raised. Loves to eat - well, I think I can deal with that.

His defenses are good and his attack isn’t too far behind either. Looks like I have my encounter for Violet City! ^^
I decide to deposit Slipstream, too, since I have Donatello now - who can take hits much better. Now off to explore Violet City!

Or not? Besides the Sprout Tower and Gym, it seems there’s just the Trainer School. In the house that usually has a guy wanting a Bellsprout for an Onix, there’s a Hiker wanting an Onix for a Ryhorn…I think.
There’s actually not much to do around town - besides speaking to the teacher for the Trainer School, who has a French accent and likes to dance…or spin. I don’t know what that’s about. “Want to be a winner is you?” -
I’m dying.
Um, yeah, so I guess there really wasn’t anything to see there? Oh well.
There is Route 32, though, where I can catch another new Pokemon and train. But the first of those I need to pay attention to is catching a Pokemon. I know that there are Electric and Poison types here, at the very least.

My encounter winds up being a Magnemite, level 12; that’s pretty good…now the question is “can I actually catch it with my team being two to three levels lower than that?” It turns out the answer is “yes”.
I think I’ll name it “Core”.

I run back to the Pokemon Center to heal, and check on Core’s stats, which isn’t all
that great, but not too bad. It having a Careful Nature means lower Special Attack and raised Special Defense - could be worse, but not preferred.
Oh well, we can live with it! Welcome to the team, Core.

I could train my team, but I think I want to go ahead and get through the Sprout Tower. The first trainer I have to battle is Sage Nico, who leads his team with the Pokemon that has the lowest base stats in the game: Sunkern. It’s at level 8, so I should be fine throughout the tower. Tan takes it down easily.
Following that is a Bellsprout, whose defeat grows Tan to level 10! He has another Bellsprout that Littlefoot tackles until it is KO’d. Nico’s last Pokemon is a Ralts, who actually gives Terk some trouble; not for long, but still a little bit.
I grab the Paralyze Heal down the ladder behind Nico, and encounter Sage Chow going left. He leads with at Bellsprout, while I have Amara in front - type advantage is mine. Though I don’t want to be too arrogant - arrogance helps no one in a Nuzlocke. Chow’s next Pokemon is a Poliwag, so I have Littlefoot take care of it.
The Poliwag puts him to sleep twice, which is entirely annoying, but Bubble only does 1 damage, so it wasn’t an issue. Defeating it grows Littlefoot to level 11. Chow’s last Pokemon is an Exeggcute; Tan KO’s it easily.
Back up to the second floor, I collect the X Accuracy north of the stairs. My next battle is against Sage Edmund, whose first Pokemon is a level 10 Mareep; I have to switch out Donatello for Terk. He follows the electric sheep with an Oddish that nearly KO’s Amara with two Acids. Lastly is Edmund’s Hypnosis-happy Hoothoot, but Core deals with it efficiently.
Terk grows to level 11 and learns Rock Throw!~

We climb up the stairs to reach the third and final floor in Sprout Tower.
And my encounter for Sprout Tower turns out to be a Chatot! Wow, I didn’t expect to take so long to actually encounter something, but hey this isn’t too bad. He isn’t as difficult to catch as I thought he’d be, either, which is very nice.
I think I’ll name him TSO, after the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. XP

The first of the last handful of battles here is against Sage Jin, whose only Pokemon is a level 12 Bellsprout. Amara takes care of it with ease. Tan and Amara both grow to level 11, with Amara learning Rock Throw!~ I rush back to the Pokemon Center, since two of my team are asleep. It also gives me an opportunity to see TSO’s stats.
TSO has a Lonely Nature, lowering his attack and raising his defense; that’s not too bad for a Chatot, I don’t think. Defense is important, but Chatot focus more on attacking quickly anyway, and his special attack is very high already.
Back to Sprout Tower and its third floor, Donatello encounters a Meditite that he knocks out to grow to level 11.

The next Sage up to battle goes by the name Neal and has a level 11 Psyduck as the leader of his team. The chronic headache Pokemon is easy for Littlefoot to KO, since he got a critical hit against the yellow duck. Secondly is Neal’s Natu…which has Air Cutter!? It nearly KO’s Tan! ;A;
Amara takes care of his final Pokemon, a Bulbasaur.
I take the time to heal up Tan; man, that was scary.

Sage Troy is the last “regular” Trainer here, and he starts off the battle with an Abra, while I have Terk at the front of my team; a single Rock Throw KO’s the Psychic type, and the experience from it grows her to level 12. Next up on Troy’s roster is an Exeggcute, followed by a Hypnosis-happy Hoothoot packing Air Cutter who gives Donatello trouble, so I switch him out for Core.
Last up on his team is a Hoppip that poisons Tan, so I have Tamara KO it.
Not even a second after that battle, Mom calls to let me know she bought me something. I hope it’s something useful; it turns out to be a Super Potion, so yeah, it is useful!
Before I tackle the final Sage of the tower, I rush back to the PC to heal up.
And of course Silver the Jerk is around, making life miserable for everyone around him. The Elder tries to give him advice, but of course the red-head rejects it outright, since he defeated the Elder already - “words of the weak and defeated” hold no value and all that jazz. He uses an Escape Rope to leave.
I grab the Escape Rope on the right before battling the Elder, but not before running into a wild Starly. I decide to give Littlefoot the Experience Share I had received.
Elder Li is the final battle here in Sprout Tower, leading off with a level 12 Bellsprout. By defeating it, Littlefoot grows to level 12 and learns Synthesis himself; that’s very nice! Next up on the Elder’s team is a Chingling (rather appropriate) that Tan bites thrice to defeat. Second to last is his Hoothoot, which is level 14! Terk knocks it out with twin Rock Throws.
Lastly, Elder Li sends out his Cherubi, which gives Amara a little bit of trouble with its Magical Leaf. Through Experience Share, Littlefoot grows to level 13 from that battle, too!

The reward for winning against Elder Li, you ask? Why it’s another quiz of course. XP
But, no, really; the answer to this question is tied between Vaporeon and Umbreon, and with Tan’s stats, the answer is Umbreon.~
Not only does he give me the “Serenade Orb”, but we also receive the TM for Flash, like what would normally happen! Elder Li is another cool guy. ^^
I use the Escape Rope to leave Sprout Tower.

Before I finish this part off, I want to go ahead and use the Serenade Orb on Tan.~

Now let’s see how his stats are now, hm?
Well, I’d say that choosing Umbreon was a good choice for him! I do hope that it was the best choice, at least, even with the weakness to Bug type attacks it brings.
That’s all for now! Next time on this Storm Silver Nuzlocke Adventure, I’ll be training my team up to level 13-14 and tackling the Violet City Gym! See you all then.~
