I dunno if it's the glasses or just my personal preferences, but the bookworm looks pretty damn cute to me. Perhaps not as interesting as the gambler or the ??? or the Yandere (seriously, no mentally sound character has those eyes, unless it's an art style choice) or the trap programmer (just getting that vibe).

Wow, this adaptation. This is immensely faithful. Like IRUN, I love how they used the music from the game in the anime too. Also, the sprites in the ED was a nice touch. A bit quick, but it has to be to fit everything in 13 episodes. I hope they do the comic summation bit (not a spoiler, it's a gameplay thing), that was always nice to see.

The first manga didn't try to stick to the game all that much.

Hm, this seems to go a similar way as the P4 animation in that it shortens some stuff, but is otherwise extremely faithful (to a fault) to the game, to the point of 1:1 adapting cenes, camera angles,a nd stuff. Especially noticeable in the "monokuma explodes" and "everyone gets introduced" scenes, and o course the space journey. Which is nice, but honestly i think there are some things that dont work as well in animated form. Just like the skintones, some visual choices, and long-ass pre-boss-battle speeches in the P4 anime seemed rather weird in animated form. I hope this doesnt end up the same. On the other hand, some scenes that looked exactly like the CG's were pretty cool,, somehwat like the Hellsing OVA's adapted many scenes 1:1 faithful to the corresponding manga panel.
Keeping in with the game's sprite's visual style is probably conversing quite some budget, hope they use that well.
Also hope the whole "OP is CG sprites and the melody from the game OP" is only an episode 1 thing to prevent spoilers, as much as the melody fits, i'd like a proper OP. Same goes with the ED's animation, though i have to say the ED song itself is godly.

Or, you know, they just like this version more than the other. I know it sounds crazy, individualism and personal preference always does, but sometimes it happens. Just relax and remember that your version is the correct one and that you in no way are being hypocrite.
