You aren't supposed to ask an author that on a thread after 2 weeks pass. You are supposed to PM him/her and ask than.

It's just common sense, really. After a while, after the conversation's died, no one's expecting to see this back at the top unless it gets updated, and to bump it up otherwise creates disappointment.
It would have been better to PM or ask in the active Infinite Library thread
or look at the progress bar in his sig which I assume he keeps updated

*Calms down* Alright as you know most of us have this set to alert us when it updates, if there is no response's in 1-2 weeks than the thread is dead.

We are supposed to wait until the Author is willing to update and revive the thread.
Never the less we have some people who choose to comments Months after a thread is dead.
Usually if that happens you can assume the story has finally updated.

Sadly all to often it was just some silly comment that was made instead, which turns the hope we had for a new chapter into rage at the person who did not revive the thread properly.

Hence Necromancer. (Though most Necromancer's do it on accident I assume) (I hope)
(I personally have done it on accident before.)

Most people hate necro's especially when it's a popular story.

Although I suppose, I did forget to post the alternative. (E.G. PMing the author of the story which is not necroing)

At the time rajvir made his post regarding that, you'd been around for at least 2 months. That's more than enough time to have figured out necroing is bad, just from lurking for a short while.
