Well, he got Eizan right. If only his face could look as grotesque as the real thing.
Don't you dare diss best boy Mimasaka.

Pretty mqd tbh. When your strongest chef and the Power of Teamwork between 8th Seat E10 and somebody tracing rank 4 E10 can't manage to wrest even 1 single vote away from Cebtral then you're heading into major bullshit territory to get the rebels to win. I fear a crappy Power of Friendship Fairytail moment is coming up.
Also it's nice to see that Mimasaka's advancing of his techniques and his development as a character were utterly pointless, that's always good.

Actually I have been thinking about this and I have somewhat of a theory.
Notice how Tsukasa went first and how the judges react differently than usual.
What if Tsukasa's cooking is so good that it affects the rest of the judgement towards the rest of the team like they still have a bit of Tsukasa's cooking in their mouth which enhaces the two other dishes.
Mimasaka's efforts will show that aspect of Tsukasa's cooking which means that Souma and the rest of his team need to a make a dish that will enhace each other's strengh or to make sure it is only a 1v1.
It would make sense that Tsukasa as the number one is not only able to produce great dishes but also being able to enhace other dishes with his aftertaste.
That or I am giving him too much credit and they go the predictable route where they explain the slight difference that makes the win and they made all that buildup just to be dicks at the very last second (wouldn't be the first time).

Mordred is finally home.
Blessed is my luck.
I am at peace.
Eh, Azami and Tsukasa have grown to bore me as villains by this point so I'm ready for this arc to be done with now.
I'd almost rather Soma just convince enough of the elite 10 to vote Azami off the island than watch this go on.
None of the top 3 needed more hype going for them so the clean sweep feels more petty than anything.

glad i'm not the only one who's bored at this point
I wasn't bored because I thought he might write a clever bit that still puts central on top for now vut starts exposing cracks that the rebels can capitalise on to make Mimasaka and Megashima's efforts not be in vain and actually have value.
But now I assume we'll either get a Power of Friendship bullshit thing, Erina will turn out to be the actual powerhouse chef despite being ranked 10th or they'll lose but soma's efforts will sway the E10 and they'll turn on Azami and vote him out. Standard basic shonen conclusions with no real thought to them seems likely at this point. And that does bore me.
It was obvious the rebels were going to be swept. I'm just glad they didn't spend six chapters showing them getting wrecked over and over so we can hopefully get on to matches and characters I actually care about. Also, really, I think the matches that will probably end with the most bullshit victories are Megumi and Takumi presumably beating Momo and Swordguy respectively.
I'm hoping Isshiki also loses before this is over.
Like, the problem is, I don't actually tune in for the shokugekis despite that being, y'know, in the title. They can be interesting enough to hold my attention, but having chapter after chapter after chapter after chapter of shokugeki that isn't going anywhere new any time fast just wears me down.
But even if that weren't the case, I still have to second Megas' opinion about our current villains- they're past their sell-by date.
I just wanted a chapter that wasn't just words words words about flavors.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
remember the good old days when people would just strip and exclaim how the food made them feel violated in a good way
All these buildup only to be used as a stepping stone for the good ole villain. How fruitless.
Something
look all I want is for someone to food orgasm Erina
and more Hinako
I'll take anything if it means I get that
Localizationing stuff
Normally I don't care about the shokugekis but every since this special group match came up I've been waiting to see Souma and Erina work together, so I make an exception for that. As far as the villains go the only one I actually like and want to know more about is Rindou. Tsukasa is okay. I kind of like how much of an asshole he is and how jarring it is given his timid personality.
put the monkey's paw away, arashi
Rindou is enjoyable because she's basically sacrificing nothing here. She lacks that complete-allegiance vibe but she's obviously going to stick with whoever looks like they hold the power cards. I have a weird respect for her lack of deadly seriousness about all this.
