So, i decided to try this mobage as i had always wanted to play fire emblem but refused to buy a 3DS.

Got Lucina in my first roll (she is awesome, i love her already) and today i managed to pull SSR Camilla and some cool 4 stars. i can't imagine a better start. I just need Tiki and a decent mage.

I feel like levelling has gotten really slow past 25~ish, and fights are starting to get a bit hard due to not having any good ranged attackers

Maybe, but i'm not a big fan of Nintendo IPs. I'm just interested in Fire Emblem and Metroid, which is dead. But i'm actually thinking about getting a Switch, not on Day one though.

If you wanna get into FE, I honestly do not recommend the mobage. As far as characters and story goes, it's incredibly bare-bones, and seems to be more of a "made for already fans" sorta thing, rather than something to rope people in.

While it's considered easier than the other titles, Awakening has more mechanics to consider. The GBA titles are as good a place to start as any.

I wouldn't recommend Conquest to a newcomer, because it's the hardest of the lot. Birthright, which should be most suitable difficulty-wise, is like you said. Revelations needs at least one of the two to work.

RNG keeps spitting out mages for me. I have 5* Robin and Leo, who are awesome, and two 4* Sophias, who is awful (at least the one I tried levelling up is).

Yeah, the story is generic and boring so far. I don't know if this mobage is going to have the same treatment as FGO with Camelot and Babylon but still, i think it's good enough for now, at least for doing something else when i get bored of FGO endless grind. And of course, getting Lucina and Camilla helps too.

Yeah, armored units are usually weak to magic. Also some weapons are armor effective, but mages are the go-to antiarmor

As someone that started out with Awakening, those extra mechanics don't make the game anymore difficult.

Got Lucina and three 4* on my next 5 draw, Jacon and Niles are pretty good ranged and fem. Corrin can do some good damage as a dragon, but Hanzo poison and smoke bomb is really good against high def enemies and I don't think on trading him for Jacob.

Niles is a mage killer with good resistance and his skill do more damage with a high res so I can put him on Virion's place.

Wrys is a pretty good healer, he don't have many good healing skills, but the Reconcile staff is good, and he have a atk with 10 might so he can do some good damage against units with low res, so I am really happy that I got him on my first draw.

Literally all I've done today (and arena). I've power leveled everyone of importance to at least level 17 and gotten over 130 of the Transparent Badges. By comparison, I only got 8 Verdant Badges yesterday. Though I need to do a few missions and try to unlock the Fifth Stratum, because the Fourth just isn't cutting it anymore.

I know I'm gonna farm the hell out of Stratum once the blue badges hit. Sharena has served me quite well and she needs to be upgraded. And Robin.

But 20k feathers...oh boy.
