By "okay" you mean "completely optional and entirely unconnected to the story besides Lucina, with a very vague plot device as to how or why they went back in time"?

The plot device wasn't even that vague, and the kids were a hell a lot more connected than what Fates would do. They as a concept played a more important role than the Deeprealms babies.

I did for like 2 weeks but haven't opened it for 2 months now.
I just hate like every game mode.

The incentives kind of reward each other and get you invested for reasons that only make sense within the internal logic of the game. That, and it sort of becomes a ritual over time.

played it until book 2, then stopped. gacha games are a parasite on the mind and soul. they latch onto you and force you to obey their whims every day until you can set yourself free.

Heroes has its own thread, but there's little to discuss since the game has settled on a certain kind of rhythm and just follows it, I've been playing since launch too and the game is part of my daily routine I guess.

Also, other parts of the internet have more vibrant FEH discussions anyway. Anytime anyone has tried to start new discussions over new banners and the like here, it's kinda stalled.

Yeah, the game keeps going, but there's just not much to say that hasn't been said already, can't be helped when the story is so minimal, lack of word of mouth regarding the game probably accounts for why they keep monetizing it too.

I'd say the story has gotten gradually better, but like with FGO to some extent, it's too little, too late. That being said, the popularity of the OCs is in my view evidence that they're at least doing something right on that front.

Discussion around the game is too gameplay focused for me. I don't have the patience to research skills, plan builds or discuss tier lists on a fucking gacha game.

Specially since the story is so fucking alwful, so there was nothing for me to look forward to after I got L'Arachel, Eirika, Edelgard and Constance.

Discussion is very gameplay focused for sure, and that's honestly why I follow FEHtubers. They do most of the research and highlight good builds to start with, and I can build off of that.

Also, again, while the story is not great, it isn't that awful.

I'd definitely say it's alwful. Abhorrent, in fact. Literally only the fairy book was worth any attention and it was still thoroughly mediocre. Not to mention the barebones presentation and the mind-numbing number of interruptions by one-liners from FE characters that, I assume, were new to the game back when the chapters came out.
