What?and will have an even easier mode called “Phoenix” mode, which revives fallen units on the following turn.
The durability thing is cool, but I'd rather have just had the option to repair gear in-between levels. This could have been countered by lowering the total number of uses.

I think even casuals will find Phoenix mode to be a bit patronizing.
That or it's just gonna heavily limit the number of weapons in the game, get ready to only have 1 Brave Sword.

Lack of weapon durability I can see done well (Gaiden handled it well, and FE4 essentially didn't have weapon uses since all weapons had 50 uses and could be repaired easily with funds which you weren't really using for anything else)
Phoenix Mode is the same case as Casual Mode. Yeah, it's dumb, but we still have Classic and no one's gonna force you to play other ways.

That would certainly be one way to force people to use diverse unit types.
The only way Phoenix mode could be any easier is if the Lord dying didn't lead to a game over.
They gotta save a feature to make the next Fire Emblem easier, and other than literal God mode...

I'm not sure of how I feel about no weapon uses, I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see how well it works.
Well, supposedly the Nohr side at least will have defense missions so losing units, even if it's only for the extent of the rest of the chapter, could land you in an unwinnable situation.

Nothing thus far has sounded bad to me. At least to the level of being a deal breaker.
Provided they adjust something else for the lack of durability, it should be fine.

Dragon Pulse seems cool. Blowing up a mountain instead of walking around is the way a real ruler does shit.
I'm not even sure they need to adjust something? I mean most of the times durability just meant you would stack three weapons on the one guy that would counterattack the entire map to death instead of just one.

Other games have had similar systems (Gaiden had true unlimited durability while FE4 had repairable weapons with 50 uses) and both of those compensated for it by having incredibly limited weapon availability.
Hopefully If will do something similar.

Isn't that the point though? If you lose people, then a battle should become harder, that's kinda only natural in gameplay. That's exactly why you go back and restart.
