its both depending on what you wanted
its not a feel good golden ending fanfic as everyone expected, there is plenty of good story content
but some decisions made regarding some major characters and story arcs are geniunely wtf tier (as in WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK tier, not merely wtf tier)
though keep in mind that i mostly operate from datamine leaks and cutscenes floating around so far (nsp leaked a couple days ago and i'm only a few chapters into my Scarlet Blaze playthrough and a lot of shit seems to be ng+ locked and there is still some ambiguity in regards to actual ending and possible dlc content since the game is not out yet)

Nifty that 3 Hopes remembers the custom name you had for Byleth if you chose a custom name.
So a mysterious force compelled me to pick up the Switch again and I finished the second half of Cindered Shadows in one go. I still hate how limited the party composition is and the gimmicks are annoying (lol imma spawn a dozen enemies out of nowhere, hope you didn't make the mistake of triggering them with your very last dude!), but there's something to be said about just progressing through the story with minimal fuss about equipment, classes, supports, talking to everyone, etc... Yuri is referred to as a bird in English but a wolf in Japanese, thanks a lot IS.
While I was at it, I put the Three Hopes demo up for download, might check it out later.

People have been talking shit about the story, and while I'm only halfway through Scarlet Blaze, it's hard to believe it with how good these Supports have been.
They're consistenly better than Three Houses, the comedic ones are a particularly massive improvement because some are actually funny.
I don't know if this is the same writing team, but having less support pairs and even less conversations per pair clearly worked in their favor. There are still some really bad ones like every time Bernadetta shows up, but at least I don't have to see it 10 different times with different characters.
